The wife has one and uses it. I don’t do electricity through the body...get it near me and an ambulance or coroner will be called.

We bought one from are pharmacy the brand is Drive, it's been a good one. You will need to replace the electrodes after awhile we just get them from the pharmacy.

I got one about 8 years ago. I don't leave home for more than a day trip. A friend is a chiropractor and recommended one on Amazon. I think it was $22 when I got it. It does a great job.

Our tens unit works reasonably well for me on a spasmed muscle. I always use it on the highest setting. I wish it was a little stronger.
I also use a little Pelonis space heater, on high, for sore joints and it quickly knocks out most pain. I super heat the sore joint. If my right ankle, knee or thigh or all three are hurting and keeping me awake, I cook them a little and they stop hurting, so I can sleep.

Here's a good unit that works great and is very reasonably priced. Tens 3000 unit. It runs on a 9 Volt battery that will last about a week.

I had some nerve damage after shoulder surgery 20+ years ago... Bad enough my arm wouldn't work. Doc told me everything would come back but he was worried my muscles would atrophy in the interim.
They got me hooked up with a TENS unit to help keep the muscles from wasting away. Basically used the pulses to exercise my arm muscles.
Worked pretty decent. But don't let the electrodes loosen up away from your skin... The juice will arc to your hide and that doesn't feel too nifty.

I used one after both shoulder surgeries, and for my back injury. They work wonders.
