Is the duke 550 as strong as the mb 550

Yes

I have some and they compare to The MB 550. They are nice traps.

Ethan, the info is here on this site. Use search function and the archives. Every question you’ve asked has been discussed many times over. There’s also probably a dozen or more YouTube videos. For being 15 you can’t seem to be able to look up much on a computer, but you spend an awful lot of time on here. Just the other day you gave 3 examples of the best fox trap and Duke wasn’t mentioned at all by you. You could spend the entire next week and still not read all the archives...ask me how I know? Yep, I’ve read EVERYTHING that pertains to the predators we have down here. There’s also a PM function on this site, so if your reading and find something interesting that someone else has posted, you can PM them for a more one on one explanation. Most on here are extremely helpful, but it’s going to require you putting forth a little effort.

Man take it easy on him. Maybe just wants to be part of the conversation. I wish I had a group like this when I was a teenager to be part of.

Let’s put it this way, I have raised to boys to adulthood and have a 6yr old now. Even the 6 year old knows how to look things up, of course I have to help with the spelling, but still.

Next time ill ask the other forums for beginners maybe they can help or ill pm someone on here

Being an a-hole to young trappers dont help nobody out just tell me where exactly i can find good information at than ill check it out afterall were our future and alot of people will simply get off here for good if your rude to every young person

I have both traps. I'm definitely partial to the mb550s but the dukes do well too. The biggest problem I've had with the duke's is everytime I catch a coyote in one I have to straighten out the levers. Definitely not the quality on the levers as the MBs

You'll like them. But I have to say the MB is a little higher in price but also in quality. But if you are young and don't have much money to spend the Duke will do just fine

I'm with Wanna Be. If one of my kids asks me how to spell a word, I tell them to look it up. If they try and can't figure it out, I'll jump in and show them how to use the dictionary. That's been done here and for some reason there's resistance.

If he wants to learn, the information is available. I taught myself to trap with videos, Google and T Man. I was tinkering with some traps tonight, had an idea and Googled it. I initially learned about hunting at the library.

It's about attitude and initiative.

Will also add that I do prefer the square pan on the dukes over the round pan on the MBs

Scroll down after, the Forum tab opens, to where you see archives.
Now look at the titles of the archives and find one of umpteen hundred about anything you might want to know.

Now at the top of the screen again is a SEARCH tab. Open it and type in whatever you’re looking for: for example...Duke 550. I’d bet a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts you can find your answers there.

Since we're doing this, I like my MB 550s--a lot.

Haven’t you all figured it out by now, Ethan doesn’t want to work that hard. It’s easier to ask questions than to research something. It’s just part of his generation. He’s been given advice and some have given him traps and supplies based on his post. So here we are again, another Ethan post.

Several of us learned trapping by reading books and in the field first hand. Something the younger generation will never do. If it’s not handed to them they simply won’t do it.

I beg to differ BBarnes. Everything I bought was money I earned from working, nobody has given me anything. I’ve worked hard for everything I’ve caught, and refrain from asking questions about things I could find out about with a little research. I’m 16 yrs old and have multiple people who can vouch for me. I’m not looking for any sympathy, I just wanna set my record straight
