NTA MEMBERSHIP CHALLENGE!

I just watched Tom Miranda on Facebook give a talk about joining a trapping association. It really got me thinking. As trappers we are passionate people, but we suck at supporting our passion, doesn’t make sense! He quoted like less than 5% of trappers are members of a trapping association. I urge you to join any and all associations you can. Renew old memberships. I let my FTA lapse, so I will renew it. I want to buy one person who isn’t a member of the NTA a membership. I CHALLENGE ANYONE WHO IS A MEMBER TO DO THE SAME! Send me a message and we will work it out. If there is any interest from people wanting to buy a membership I’ll tell the ones that were to late who wants to help. Our heritage is being attacked on many fronts, we need all the help we can get.

It's crazy the amount of welfare trapper's out there's.

87 views, all 87 must be members. I’m not here to judge. I’ve let my membership lapse before sometimes for years. In my opinion we are at a critical point. Just trying to stir some interest.

Michigan Trappers Association has a deal going where every new member also gets a membership to the NTA and Fur Takers. For $25 it’s hard to beat.

I signed up my friend that just got into trapping, it’s a great way to get familiar with the organizations without costing a lot of money. If trapping is going to survive the government it’s going to take a large organization with large numbers. Numbers matter to politicians.

I really think that the Associations need to do some advertising on the trapping shows and the podcasts that are out there right now. I’m not sure what the rates are on the Trapping Today podcast and the Trapping Radio broadcasts are but I doubt they’re unreasonable. Hoosier Trappers Supply just had Dave Hastings on their Trap House podcast, and one of their first shows was John Daniels. I really enjoy hearing about what’s going on with the associations.

how about a shout out from all the trapping shows on TV?....EVERY trapper should at least join the NTA

I’ve had some hunters tell me they’ve been watching the trapping shows on TV. That’s a good thing.

would think the trapping show would be promoting the NTA ,on there own for free , the one thing that is unique about the NTA is officer's don't get paid , they are volunteer's , most of the boards is . how many nationals organization can say that !!!

i just sent in 4 memberships couple weeks back as gifts from our business to older and younger folks i knew weren't members yet to hopefully jump start their interest. Hopefully they will renew in a year

We all need to put more effort into encouraging other trappers that aren't members of any association to step up and join. The NTA is the main organization that represents us all. When its gone boys its very difficult to get it back. Some on here already know that for a fact.

It’s been my experience that when you bring up joining any organization most people sidestep the subject or claim money is tight then spend ten bucks on lunch and fifteen on a twelve pack. They are typically the ones who are the complainers as well.

I joined a month ago and I will sign my wife up today

I too signed up last month and just meet with one of the guys from our local gun and rod club in hopes of getting some support from them. They are also close with our local deer hunters assoc.

Challenge accepted! As stated earlier, I did end up signing my wife up today. I ended up adding a youngster with a youth membership. He has gone on a couple ride alongs with me and is excited about trapping. He did get his first fisher this year.

Member of NTA, FTA and Life ISTA to help, because I hate what is happening all over the country, it is spreading like a plague, eating away trapping and hunting rights. They will never come back again after they are gone.

Every year when I get my fur check I try to become a life member of a different state trappers association, I’m a life member of 7 different states. The reality of it is that it take dollars and members to fight these idiots that want to take away what we love. It’s not always easy to put up the money, but is a critical part of keeping trapping alive! Do what you can. Thanks

Yes, I know who I am. I was a member for 30 years or so, then I had a reason to quit. I see no reason to join again.
