IRS Processing Taxes? Refunds?

I filed mid February and am expecting a refund. Not near as much as last year but the IRS has had my info over a month now and still says Processing Return. Anyone else having their returns take much longer this year? Generally, within about a week or so I have historically seen it approved and go through. Even a few years ago when I was audited - it was approved and then the audit was several months after it was approved.........I am just wondering if they are holding tax money longer since they are giving out all the worthless stimulus.

Their website says they are way behind. We e-filed Jan 31 and the refund is finally scheduled for deposit on Wednesday. Dealing with the stimulus is the reason they gave. They are so far behind in fact they are actually talking of extending the tax deadline until May 15 for people to pay in. I never thought they would ever consider that! White17 is correct they are still working on mailed in returns from last year. Those people getting refunds get a tiny amount of interest added to their refunds.

My turn around was about two weeks then again last year didn't get mine back till the week of Thanksgiving

My accountant told me he had people who hadn't got there refund from last year yet.

Got ours last year in mid September. Not expecting it any quicker this year. Getting back about $3K more than last year too.

Mine only took about 10 days.

Where do you all look to see when your tax refund will be deposited?

Just set your withholding high enough so you can give the treasury it's interest free loan

We over paid quarterly this year and have a larger refund but have not filed yet. I have them done but will wait a bit. They are way behind and will be for some time. We will file in a few weeks. There have been several announcements over the last month or so about their delays. I can't remember for sure but seemed they were several weeks behind when I read one of the announcements. One can go on their sight to see where one is at once filed. We followed their sight to find out when our stimulus check will be deposited, which will be Wednesday of this week.

The tax dead line was extended last week. May 17th.

People being held up on their returns from last year is not right!

You end up telling IRS, "I'll try to get mine in by Thanksgiving"!

I bet ADC won't get his return by the promised time either. Glad as a working business man I get another month before I have to write a check to pay for all those who do not work to be able to get a return. LLL

Filed the beginning of March. Refund was deposited 9 days later.

I owe IRS. My wife works and that makes my social security (including amount withheld for medicare premiums) taxable (based on household income). The return is prepared. I'll file just before the deadline in May.

Got State and Federal refund in under two weeks.

It wasn't much, but I haven't received mine from 2019...I want the interest too!!!
