You should be able to make $250.00 pretty quick mowing lawns and doing yard work, this time of year. It's good work for a young man.

5 yards at $50 each and you’re set. Should be able to get them on a 2 week cutting also. Maybe 3 if they’re cheap. Have it paid off in no time.
At the beginning of school year, each student here has the option to pay a $20 insurance fee so that if anything happens to electronic device it's covered. If you don't pay the $20 and something happens then it's on you.
Does your school offer something like that?

I'm glad I went to school when we had books.

I know it's a bad deal but there are a ton of people out there that would love for that to be their only problem. Someday you won't even remember this.

I hate my kids being on computers all day for school

Brown paper bags to cover the books too, lol!
Farmers around here pay 15 dollars per hour picking stones, could get you some trapping land also if your willing to work .

If it makes u feel any better I’ve been having heart troubles and went to the doc yesterday to have him tell me it could just stop.
That doesn't sound too good
Can they fix it ?

Hoping you get things straightened out.

Re: Bad luck again - 03/26/21 03:50 AM
Like has already been said it’s a bump in the road and there will be many more in your life. Work hard keep a positive attitude and learn to make the best of every situation. Wake up every morning with a smile on your face and tell yourself that it’s going to be a good day and try to maintain that attitude no matter who or what gets in your way. I promise you if you go around town and tell folks what happened and ask if they have any work for you to make some money, they will be more than happy to find some for you to do, but make sure you do it with a good attitude and not a “poor me, life sucks attitude”. I hire high school kids off and on all year to help me keep up with farm chores and I pay extra and call them back if they work hard and show some initiative.
No matter how bad you think you have it, remember there is somebody somewhere that has it much much worse.

Remember when it didn’t cost anything to go to public schools? The taxes covered it, more and more i find myself paying for different things for the kids school.

Man, I remember being a child when $250 was a big setback. Ahh the good old days. Now that's about the cost of a truck tire. Yes it's a good bit of money, but it's part of life and it could be a lot worse. Just wait til you see grownup bills Ethan!
Also, post kid topics on the kid forum.

I’m sure someone has some wood to stack or brush to cut around you. You have to get out there and ask.

Do a good job, charge them what it's worth, not what you want to make. Then ask them if they know of anyone else needing any work done, and tell them about needing to make money to pay off your debt.

Do you have any floral shops close by? I was out of work one time and started making grapevine wreaths and baskets turned into a pretty good job for a spell.

Re: Bad luck again - 03/28/21 08:44 AM
Lots of work to do in the the rain young man. You wouldn't put off trapping because of rain would you? Not to mention indoor work. People always need work done and will pay if you show yourself to be hard working. This work ethic will spill over into all forms of life activities and make you a better man. A hard working man is respected.

Don't use rain as a excuse, you can dry off. If I did not work when it rained, snowed, too hot, too cold I would be like a democrat supporter and never work!
Ok ill see if i can find any work in the rain
You missed the indoor work part. Painting, cleaning out clutter in an attic/basement, the possibilites are are only limited by your imagination. .
Don't fall into that wo is me it's just bad luck nothing I could do about it mind set. Had you not put your equipment where it was likely to get broken it would not have happened. Own it and learn from it which you seem to be doing.
Also don't over look thing like buying or making things and selling for most profit.
Like a non running lawn mower with clogged carb from sitting all winter. Free or cheap to hall off normally clean or replace the carb drain and fill the gas tank then put on craigslist or just for sale in your yard.
You can learn a lot about small engines and once good at it have another nice side business doing small engine repair.

I think that's why he posted. All his posting has got him free trapping gear. Just as well keep riding the horse till it plays out. Maybe he could go back to coal mining.

No insurance?
My eleven-year-old granddaughter is hard on electronic equipment. My daughter buys the insurance the school offers on their laptops. It's been well worth it.
