How do I haul this with my truck?

Can anyone tell me what I need to haul this type of hookup with my truck hitch? Its my logsplitter and I only need to haul it about 2 miles.

I would take the ball off and use that hole with a big T pin from the local Agri supply.

Two pieces of 1/2 by 4" flat iron with holes drilled in each end. sandwitch the tongue between the flats and bolt it down tight. . Pin the 'clevis' it forms to your bumper.

Since you’re only going a couple miles do as others have said remove the ball from your receiver hitch and get a stout bolt or clevis and take it EASY.

Yes its a top and bottom.

Don't they make attachments that allow those to be hooked to a normal ball hitch.

That's how mine is. I just use a pin from the farm store.

Just use a finger.....only going two miles...

Hitch pin through a receiver hitch. We've pulled wagons and farm implements around for years that way.

any old bolt that about fits the hole will haul it two miles, if you drive like you got a brain in your head.

14 gauge wire wrapped around a few times outta do in a pinch!

I'm with Charlie. With a clevis type rig you'd be less apt to bind up turning or going thru a draw

How'd you get it there in the first place??

My splitter has a regular ball hitch, you can pull it down the road but I load it on the utility trailer if I need to take it anywhere

My wood spliter had a set up like that I fired up the smoke wrench and put one on for a ball job done.

Double clevis, like was already said. Would have a little more slack and probably clank around a little while pulling it but won’t bind up like a bolt might. But in all honesty if it was me and only two miles, I’d just drop a bolt through it into my receiver hitch and put a washer and nut on it to be safe

Just a concern , be aware that it may work for a short distance at a slow speed but , that splitter may not be truly roadworthy. It looks more designed to be hauled with a small tractor.

Does it have DOT rated tires and are they in good shape ? Does it have substantial bearings for the wheels/axle and are they in good shape with plenty of grease ?

Just a concern and a possibility of a problem if not looked over to see if it is truly roadworthy.
