Good deal. Maybe more states will follow suit. I does seem redundant to say something is legal that is already a constitutional right, but if that’s what it takes.

If they get it done there it would be a miracle. All the votes here were strictly along party lines. Luckily republicans are the majority in the house and senate and the governor is republican as well.

Congratulation Iowans.

Pennsylvania doen't have Constitutional Carry. I wish we did. But for now we are a "shall issue" state which means the local County Sheriff can not deny you a permit without a specific reason. Mostly that means if you are not insane, a felon or a habitual drunk, you will be issued a carry permit.

Pennsylvania's License To Carry (LTC) is honored by 32 other states. Unfortunately, it is not honored by many of our neighbors. The communist states of Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and New York are reluctant to issue carry permits to their own citizens. They sure aren't about to honor permits from another state.

Re: constitutional carry - 04/04/21 01:01 PM

No permission is what our ancestors demanded and got. Its about time we return to that. Shall issue is so much better than states like NY MA. CA IL NJ's policy of shall not issue, its two different worlds. Still, the Supremes need to do the right thing and judge requirements for permission to carry as unconstitutional.

Getting permission does NOT stop the people we need to fear from being armed.

People convicted of armed and strong armed robbery, sexual assault and murder, should stay in prison till their age induced healthcare makes it too expensive for taxpayers to care for them anymore. They can then die on the streets of skid row.

Re: constitutional carry - 04/04/21 02:25 PM

Awesome. It'll be a cold day in heck when that happens here I'm Nebraska, or at least it'll take a new governor. The current governor is an authoritarian. 4 of the 5 states surrounding Nebraska have some form of constitutional carry, but our governor doesn't believe in freedom.

I hope he does. Maine instituted CC in 2015 I believe. Some said it would lead to our streets becoming a shooting gallery. Didn't happen. Maine has one of the most heavily armed populations in the country and remain near the top of the safest states to live in crime-wise.

There's no way I know of to determine how many people carry but my suspicion is there are a lot of guys and gals out there that do.
