We have 2 bills of concern that I would ask to get a call to action on.
A3467 L. Rosenthal, S4459 Addabbo. AN ACT to amend the Environmental Law, in relation to prohibiting the use of leg-gripping traps (foot-hold traps).
Urging all trappers and sportsmen to contact the Chairs of the Senate and Assembly ENCON Committees and politely ask them to not introduce this bill in committee.
Assembly chair, Steven Englebright, engles@nyassembly.gov Albany office, 518-455-4804, District office 631-751-3094
Senate Chair, Todd Kaminsky, kaminsky@nysenate.gov Albany office, 518-455-3401, District office, 516-766-8383
The second bill,
A703, L. Rosenthal, S5439, Brisport. Relates to prohibitions on fur products. Prohibits the manufacture, sale, display for sale, trade, gift a fur product by any means in NYS.
In the Assembly it was referred to the Economic Development Committee.
Harry Bronson, bronsonh@nyassembly.gov Albany office, 518-455-4527, District office, 585-244-5255
In the Senate it was referred to the Consumer Protection Committee.
Kevin Thomas, thomask@nysenate.gov Albany office, 518-455-3260, District office, 516-739-1700
If you are a NY residence I urge you to call their state representative and the chairs of each committee to oppose these bills and Respectfully ask them to not bring these bills to committee.
