I bought a Bark River Gunny for each of my kids when they were born. Expensive, but they have a great warranty and are built tough.

The Gunny is a good looking knife, i thought for my first BK knife I'd go with there flagship knife the Bravo 1..

Re: New Knife - 04/09/21 12:19 AM

They're good knives. I got one at the FBU banquet at the last escanaba NTA. Its from their custom 2019 line and I have know clue what the actual model is. Got a similar deal on a blind horse knive that was a custom, one of a kind knife that wasnt part of their normal lineup

I have a bark river golok. It accompanies me daily especially on the beaver line. Best attributes of a machete and hatchet combined.

Nice looking setup! Not familiar with the brand, are these from a small custom shop?

Semi custom is how they're marketed. They're very popular in the bushcraft world. Made in Escanaba Michigan.

It'll take down inch and a half sweet gums with one swing if I do my part on the draw stroke.

Re: New Knife - 04/09/21 01:52 AM

If it's anything like their knives I bet it's a joy to swing... I appreciate quality.

I assuming you're referring to Mike Stewart's Blackjack knives, I researched that and I'm comfortable owning Bark River knives.
