WTA D5 Summer Rendezvous June 26!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

District 5 of the Wisconsin Trappers Association is holding their 2021 Summer Rendezvous on June 26 at Joe Pietrek Jr. County Park, N31500 State Rd. 93 just north of Arcadia, WI. Demos will start at 9:00 a.m. with the meeting at 1:00 p.m. The event will run till 3:00 p.m. FREE ADMISSION!

There will be kids games, vendors, and plenty of room for tailgaters. As usual there will be a pile of raffles with great prizes. D5 is having raffles on the following:

1st Prize: Kimber Hunter 6.5 Creedmoor or $500 cash

2nd Prize: Savage Model 822 .22 LR or $200 cash

3rd Prize: $200 cash

Tickets are $5 each, 3 for $10, or 7 for $20. They are available at the event or from WTA D5 members. Need not be present to win.

As long as the Catfish tournament is not that day. The Boy and I will be there. Otherwise we will find someone going and send a few items for the bucket raffles. Hopefully they don't move the tournament to that weekend it's been in August the last few years but they plan on moving it to June as the average catch was better in years past when it was held in June. The size seems to be going down overall in the area as more people are getting into catfishing but we'll see. I love the D5 summer rendezvous!!!! Always a great time!

Thanks, for posting this Moosetrot. I'll contact Mr. Gordon again and get some raffle tickets again like I did a couple years ago.

You may want to ask the bosses if they can put this up at the top so you don't need to refresh it all the time. Just a suggestion.

I think a couple weeks before the event they will do it. It's actually kind of fun keeping it on top by TTTing.

Okay.Thanks again. I'm in D9 but I can't say that I've seen where they have raffle tickets to buy at their rendezvous. I'd buy at both if they did. Those are some nice prizes. I usually work on Saturdays so I can't attend or I'd probably spend way more in person.

Wish you could make it! There will also be a bunch of bucket raffles going on, too. When is D9 having their rendezvous? Been wanting to get over there as a tailgater.

Moosie, the D9 rondy is June 5th at the Reedsburg Outdoor Club. Tailgaters are welcome and free.
Wish I could see ya there, unfortunately Patrice and I will not be there as my son is getting married that day.

It really varies. With everybody being holed up for so long I would not be surprised if we have a bunch. If it's not rainy, I will be there with a lot of sporting and other antiques.
There's usually a few folks selling traps, etc. If I hear any numbers I will post them on here. It's always been a great event.

Have not been out recently. A few weeks ago my Grandson and Son joined me at the boat landing a stone's throw from my house and they went home with a bucket of 32 slab Bluegills.

I don't live in D5, but I've been to your event a couple times in the past 5 years, and your crew does a great job.

Sorry to hear the Trap Shack and Smokey's Trapping Supply moved out of your district. At least they are still located in Wi.

I knew about Trap Shack but not Smokey's. Both of them have been great supporters of WTA D5 and trapping in general.

Smokey moved his business up north. He still has some family in the area. I wouldn't doubt he'll be there. He is good about filling his glorified horse trailer/camper with supplies and setting up shop at WTA events. Great guy. He does good demos too.

When districts all had their rendezvous on a different weekend,I was able to set up at all of them. That went on for 2 or 3 years--maybe a bit longer.My memory isn't as good as it used to be.

I met you at the D6 one once Bog. It was nice when you were able to make it to the events. You had a hot beaver lure, as I recall.

Got my MoundMaster on hold till castor prices drop. Question is-will I live long enough to see lower castor prices LOL,it may be a while.

So if anyone is interested I've got a line on those craigslist traps ( separate post) for the 2 coil yote traps, waiting on a little more info but they are going to let me have em at $72 a doz. If anyone is interested let me know there's 6 dozen available I'm looking to keep 2 doz but I could pick the rest up and bring them to the rondie

Great Rendezvous everyone. I wanted those Bridgers

Trapsetter! Good to see you there! I am sure you will be pleased to hear I won both the Bridger #5's you donated! Very happy! I also won a nice camo life vest for my Grandson who was there with my son. Plus I also won a couple nice knives.

The D5 Rondy was a great success. I was surprised at the good attendance. I was tailgating so was not able to get around to the demos but I heard they were good.

I even got to meet a couple guys who are lurkers on here!

Trapsetter-It was good to meet "The Boy" again! You have done a fine job being his Dad. First time I have ever seen a Mountain Cur in person as well. Your pup is really a nice dog! Had to tell my wife all about him when I got home.

Well The Boy loves his Marbles hatchet Moosetrot. We had to leave early to help clear three big trees for a friend of the family. We used a piece of the ash tree to repair the handle and put a near razor edge on it.




He put that little hatchet through its paces cleaning the small branches off the logs before splitting.





The Boy is a work horse. I don't think he took one extra break in two days and didn't complain once.


We also won a couple prizes in the buckets. Met up with a fellow D5 member today when we got back to town as he had brought them back for us. Looks like The boy will match your grandson moosey.

Just want to thank everyone who helped set this rondezvous up and say we had a great time!!!!

Glad to hear he liked the Marbles hatchet and he's putting it to good use! It went to the best home possible. I was happy as a clam to not only win the traps, but that life jacket will be great for my Grandson when we duck hunt this Fall!
