my granddaughter had a routine checkup and the dr noticed something about her heartbeat during the exam.....dr sent her to a hospital that was better equipped..........they discovered a hole in her heart..............shes scheduled for surgery this thuersday in st Louis at st Louis childrens hospital. we've learned the dr doing the procedure is highly skilled,,,,,,,,,,and has performed the same procedure on a baby that was still in the womb..................just pray the lord guides his hand once again.........thanks guys!!

That is tough news to hear, but it is not uncommon and today's medical professionals can be pretty amazing...That said, it's still your little granddaughter...Lots of well wishes for all of you...

I pray for her. When my daughter was about 2 she was diagnosed with a irregular heartbeat (pvc’s) and after a lot of test she is doing well 6 years later, hope for the best and stay strong.

Our Lord's 1st miracle was her birth. We remember in awestruck wonder.
Our Lord's 2nd miracle is her growing up. We give thanks for His Grace.
Our Lord's 3rd miracle was the recent diagnosis of discovery. We humbly thank God for His Mercy.
We pray the miracles of Grace, Mercy, and Peace continue for your little one.... and all involved.

Hang in there. Doctors today can do all kinds of things. They will take care of her & she will be good as new.

Everyone's heart melts when we hear a child is involved.. I was told by a very wise woman one time "If GOD leads you to it , GOD will lead you thru it " Praying for a speedy recovery as this condition is very successfully fixed !!

I have an almost 3 year old that was born without his right ventricle. He had his first open heart surgery at 4 days old at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN his second surgery was when he was 6 months old, they actually went into his heart that time. I have seen the photos from during surgery. Unbelievable is an understatement of what a good surgeon can do. He has at least one more surgery at 4-5 years old.
I hope they can do the surgery by going in through the veins and arteries. In my experience that changes how recovery goes. She will be cranky, and sore. Family and extended family can help a lot with home and pets etc.
My son was recovered enough to go home in a week after both surgeries. I hope she is also.
You will be humbled when you see the other families in the pediatric cardio intensive care unit. You can tell how the kids are doing by how many med pumps they are hooked up to. Hopefully less and less everyday.
Look into the Ronald McDonald house if you don’t live near where the surgery will take place. I will always collect pop tabs for that place after staying there.

its about a 100 miles roughly............we might do that thank you for the advice and words of encorugement

Piece of cake with frosting on top modern medicine is truly amazing she will be back to her old self and then some before you know it ! If not even better ! You and your's are in my prayers as is the medical staff.

Had one little girl and one little boy in our church both diagnosed with the same thing over the last few years. Both had surgery. Both are much older now and in perfect health. Modern medicine is amazing. No worries. I'll be praying.

AMEN!!!. we prayed last night for safe travels today...........cant help but be a bundle of nerves ...and focusing on st Louis traffic takes a lot of concentration and being aware of surroundings
