Remember when the last president said he didn't like silencers? I don't remember any republicans getting too upset then. But it's (D)ifferent this time, I guess.

most of the gun hating world requires a gun muffler to hunt so you don't make too much noise , in the US where all of about zero crime happens with a suppressor. they want a total ban becuase why keeping your hearing or making less of a noise is bad.

cars , trucks motorcycles , lawn mowers everything has a muffler mandated

if there a difference between 129 decibels and 160 decibels absolutely , can you tell me what is what from the next room without me playing one then the other probably not.

the exception being sub sonic 22lr and a few other sub sonic cartridges with suppressors however a long barrel and fast burning powder can do almost the same thing.


I though these laws were supposed to be in the interest of public safety , for pete's sake more people die from being stuck by lightning than die from suppressor use , how ridiculous.

I would bet the ban clan has nothing to back up a need for such action just the scary thing that must be banned.

I didn't get what I wanted. I wanted a president that would fight all gun laws. Neither of the two major party candidates was willing to do that.

Whose side is whose? Either your American or you’re not? Every person in the country loses when any kind of infringement is made upon people to pass a law to ban you from using something and mandating a buyback, or even worse, being able to speak and state their opinions openly. Obviously I do not support silencer bans. I see their purpose for hunting, especially predators, and for target practice, keeping noise down in general.

Anyone who believes in real liberty and freedom. I voted libertarian in the last election, and constitution party in 2016.

Well truth be told Big R DID say suppressors would be taken off the NFA list during the 2016 campaign. That and national carry just drifted away like smoke in a 30 MPH wind.

I will do what i can to oppose further restrictions on suppressors, but honestly, is a 200 dollar tax and a permission slip really any better????????????????

Loosegoose does the Constitution party run any candidates for state offices in NE? That's one party I would get behind. Of course I believe it should be developed on the state level, actually having candidates elected, before jumping into the big league of federal elections.

The Constitution party has a better platform, but their guy in 2020 had too much baggage. Libertarian party has more name recognition, though. We'll see who they put out in 2024. Darrell Castle is a good guy.

There's reality and there's wishful thinking.

A lot of libertarians have a problem with that part of the libertarian.platform. the libertarian platform is also pro-choice, even though most libertarians are pro-life. That's why I said the Constitution party has better platform. They're super pro-life,and support an end to all immigration until the mess is sorted out.

On the subject of the 2a, both libertarian and constitution parties say that all gun laws are an infringement, which is something neither the democratic or republican parties support.

Welfare as we know it will end before the borders become closed as you put it.

But see, that was the good thing about Trump. Maybe personally he didn't like silencers. But he recognized that just because he didn't care for them didn't mean they had to be banned. He made no effort to ban silencers, despite not liking them.

but you voted for Libertarians, even though they aren't in lock-step with all of your views...

I don't need a party that aligns perfectly with me, but I need one that aligns a lot better that democrats or republicans. On the issue of the 2a at least (the subject of this thread), both the libertarian party and the Constitution party align perfectly with my views, which is that all gun control laws are unconstitutional. Neither the republican or democrat party shares that view, both parties are comfortable with some level of gun control,and both of their candidates in the last election had a history of pro.otingfun control. That's too much for me.

And neither will ever do squat , surely that comes into play somewhere?
