Really? And I leave right close to ATK (CCI, Speer, etc.) Very little on the shelves around here. Not that I normally buy ammo at Walmart but I looked as I walked by the other day, a couple boxes of 410 shells was the only ammo on the shelf. Sportsmans and North 40 are better, but still 80+% empty shelves.

I've got enough primers to choke a horse, but while I've got powder, I don't have it in some of the flavors I would like/need and aren't seeing them anywhere, either. Likewise on bullets, I've got plenty of bullets if I don't care what I shoot, but my preferred long range bullets for a couple of guns are running low and haven't seen any on the shelf in a year. Didn't practice much last summer and looks like what practicing I'll be doing this summer is going to be with other bullets and saving the good ones for hunting. Not much experimenting with loads when you can't get either the powder or the bullets you would like to experiment with.

Earlier this week I picked up 3 boxes of 30/30 of which they had about 15/20 in the case along with about 20 or so boxes of federal 22 333 round boxes with about the same for 308 and 3006, returned early the next day and it was all gone, about all that was left was a couple boxes of 350 legend and a lone box of 12g no 6

I'd be happy with 12ga #6 as I am about out of the trap loads I shoot starlings with -- I thought a case would be enough.

I saw lots of ammo today. Alot of Remington ammo too. There was all kinds of .17 HMR, .22LR, .22WMR, .223, 9mm, .380, etc. About everything but 20 gauge target loads. Also stopped at 3 different places that had gunpowder. I didn't buy any, I'm pretty well stocked up now. I did not see any primers.

Re: Remington Ammo - 04/24/21 03:13 AM

it hasn't made it here yet

any Rem ammo I have seen in the last week has been old stock mostly 220 swift

it is going to help , but we are a long ways from done with this mess.

Re: Remington Ammo - 04/24/21 04:27 AM

Look almost every day somewhere and finally Monday saw 5 boxes of 270 core locts. Too bad I don’t have a 270 but I thought a month ago we might never see Remington again. Stores around here are still barren of ammo though.

Scheels in Grand Forks had cases of Remington Nitro trap loads tonight. 12 box a box. I don't think there was a limiit.

Re: Remington Ammo - 04/24/21 11:46 AM

The ammo shortage and associated price-gouging is not over despite repeated claims on the internet that it is.

When I can go online and not see the majority of a vendor's ammo products labeled "out of stock" and when I can consistently go to the store and see shelves full of reasonably priced ammo, then it will be over.

Any sort of statement about the shortage being over is made tongue in cheek. Everyone knows its not over.

Re: Remington Ammo - 04/24/21 12:04 PM

I am seeing powder and some primers showing up, but still no sign of the hunting bullets I want (Gamekings and Accubonds). Plenty of match/target bullets to be had. I suspect the hunting bullets are all going to the ammo mfgs with none left for the reloader market. MidwayUSA has been claiming that 7mm Tipped GameKings are "comming soon" for a couple of months now. It makes me wonder what Larry Potterfield's definition of "soon" is.

How much did you have to pay for the 1,500 rounds of 22lr?

Re: Remington Ammo - 04/24/21 01:18 PM

The local Walmart and Rural King have been selling some .22 LR bricks last week. I didn’t go and buy any....son said they were $25 / 500.

.22 LR for $5 per hundred?
Surely that isn’t correct?
Must have been mistaken.....

No primers? How much was the HMR if you recall? How about the WMR. I sold a box of 250 WMR last week for 125.

Today Scheels had 22lr, $35 for 500, Blazer 40 gr.

Ours has zero ammo

Ours carries birdshot, that's it as far as I can tell. No .22 shells, no centerfire rifle ammo of any caliber. None. I can't say if there has been any backlash to it.

No, that was the actual price. They also had some .30-06, .270 and .308 in Federal hunting loads for $27.99 / 20 per box. It’s hit and miss, store by store.

I believe, .17 HMR was $17.99/50, but my memory isn't that great. I do know I spent $15.99/50 for .22 WMR and the .17 cal were higher. I'm not sure why I bought the .22 WMR, except that I hadn't seen any in so long....?

I hope that is not the new normal on 17hmr. 16 months ago we were paying about $12.
