If he's supposed to be standard bred it's pretty poor breeding. Not to say he's bad but I don't see standard bred anything other than he's a mediterranean class type.
Andalusians are out of and still are sort of a landrace breed, so they vary quite a bit.
I raise traditional, Malaysian Seramas, another landrace breed. I think many American breeders are ruining Seramas. They are breeding to an extreme unhealthy form, overly small size and are ruining the friendly, non aggressive personality of the Seramas by crossing in other breeds like Old English Game Bantams. I really dislike the frizzle gene some breeders have put in Seramas. It makes them ugly, in my opinion and makes them unable to survive normal Winter temperatures in Ohio, without heat.
Many breeders like to take hearty landrace breeds of chickens and other animals and breed them to a standard that ruins them for their original purpose. Look what the AKC is doing to border collies and has done to many breeds of hunting dogs.
