POLARIS RANGER CONTEST: I may be a WINNER

Got a flyer in the mail today from a local car dealer. One of those promotion scratch off games. Scratched off the game board, and from what I read from the game rules from the car dealer that sent out this flyer, I MAY JUST BE THE WINNER OF A NEW POLARIS RANGER ATV !!!! Says it is worth $7,500 and the odds of winning it are 1 in 50,000 . Is this a scam ????

It is possible. Wife won a $1000 dollar gift card to target in one of those things years ago and I know several other folks around that won prizes like this from a car dealer in the next town over. They do try real hard to sell ya a car while you are there to pick up your prize though so be prepared to ignore them.

My experience with those the flyer makes it seem you won a decent prize but get there and the numbers on the dealer board show a different prize. I've won a few gift cards at the dealership but the flyer says something different

Got a scratch flier in mail from local Ford dealership a few years ago, scratched it off and i matched the 10,000 dollar prize. Went to collect and was told I was in the final drawing for it. After arguing a few minutes with them I went by my lawyers office and showed him, he said yes on paper you won, but the way the law is, if you did not pay any money to be in the drawing they can print any kind of lie they want to. after the conversation with him I contacted the owner of the dealership and told him how cheesy it was. They since no longer send that scam out. So I would not get my hope up to high.

Here is what I would do if I got there and it turned out to be a scam. I'd act like it wasn't no big deal and chat up with a salesman. Let them know you are still interested in buying a car or truck from them. Make sure and test drive it so they think you're serious. Offer to buy it for a few thousand under sticker price. Let them draw up all the paperwork and then when its time to pay tell them you will be paying for it with cash. Then pull a book bag of monopoly money.

I would actually do this if it were me..not just trying to be funny for Tman.

Ps. If you can record this transaction with a hidden camera you could probably put it on youtube and tiktok, monetize it, and earn enough to buy a $7,500 polaris ranger.

LOL you haven't been to a dealership in last 3 months have you. NO BELOW STICKER prices now. All new chevy's are 2000 ABOVE sticker!!! I looked at a new Tahoe last week and they started that crap 2000 over sticker. I said ok If you go to Walmart to by milk and it's 2.49 a gallon , then you get to cash register and girls says 4 dollars would you pay it ?!!! I started to get up laughing in guys face . He said I can sell it at sticker because GM won't let them go below that as they are low on inventory. Told him NEVER paid sticker in my life not starting now and left.

Vehicles have always been valued at whatever price they can get buyers to pay for them.

If this contest is for real. And that is a BIG IF !!!, I think I would rather just take the cash instead of the UTV. Government can take their cut in taxes , and I keep the rest !!

My son bought two raffle tickets last August, $20.00 each from small town FD fundraiser. Won a 2020 Polaris Ranger with nice trailer. Total package value was around $12,000. He had to pay taxes got machine that really is nice for hunting/trapping. Used it last week turkey hunting save my old crippled legs some walking.
My daughter sold the ticket to the guy that won an ATV at WI Trappers Fall Roudy..That was several years back now.. Not all them raffles are scams. But there are plenty scams for everything.
