Do you sell plants or those all going in your garden. That’s lots of plants.
I sell them, and there's some 8000 plants here and outside and I'll be planting vinecrops in 3" cups next week, for those folks that want those. Many folks plant vinecrops in the hill, by seed. But a lot of younger gardeners would buy the individual plant if I offer it. I'll tell folks how to do it both ways though.
Les, You may be onto something with the white butterfly sighting. I watched a fly catcher grab half a dozen one day and it is dry here. As dry as I have ever seen it. They are selling cows. There is little hay and little pasture grass. We may get a shot of rain this afternoon/night.
Dry conditions are not the best for cabbage butterflies. The second generation of Marbles Whites are flying, they have a creamy streak to their wings and no black dots, they do not live on brassicea plants
Really great looking plants and well cared for. I planted our two gardens about the same time as always but due to the many more higher heat days and nights, things are really a lot further ahead then normal. I have had to adjust to the early harvest of beans, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower etc. I will be having to make my kraut a lot earlier too. I typically plant 4 smaller sweet corn patches. This year I got the 67 day in early and that is very close to ready I planted some 77 day corn about two weeks later and that is only a week behind so things have really moved rapidly. I have a lot of sizable tomatoes on already and I planted smaller plants a few days before Memorial Day. The later planted cool season crops are spiking quickly so they are going to the sheep.
We just got a rain now, this morning, still trying to rain as we speak. The cracks in the ground wont heal up, but this is the first rain in a month or more. I've been watering with a mist that wont out pace my flowing well for a month, everyday, somewhere in 3 gardens, moving it around till I get back to the beginning. ..
I pruned my tomatoes way back about a week ago. I figure we are four weeks from frost at the most. It will warm back up after it kills my tomatoes. It always does. It shows 101 for a high today and 64 for the high Friday.
