Looks like at the tunnels on the road from Shoshoni to Thermopolis.

It is where Cattrax said and what are you doing running around by that water?

So did the river naturally run through a tunnel or did man re-route through a man mad tunnel?

One of the prettiest spots ion the west. I just love making that drive from Thermopolis to the south where the Bighorn goes through the mountains and turns into Wind River.

i don't think your looking at a tunnel in the picture. Think your looking at a shadow of the peaks right over the river. Look at the other shadows in reference of there the sun is. Wind River goes through a narrow gorge up around Independence Rock but no tunnel in that area I know of.

Definitely a pretty drive. You can tell when you meet or are overtaken by one of the locals. Those people around there drive that road hard!

Independence Rock is right beside the Sweetwater, about 100 miles east of the Wind River.

It's south of Thermopolis , there's a chance that you may see Bighorn sheep it that area but don't try finding them while your driving it's a windy bugger of a road ha ha

The tunnel you're seeing is the highway, there are 3 tunnels right there,, the river runs through the canyon and doesn't go through any tunnels, but right next to the highway.

The river is re-named to the Big Horn River at the other end of the canyon.
