I went in today reading “Mast Required unless Vaccinated.”

Guess how many times I was asked for a vaccination card?

Local bakery makes the best donuts. These really are 10x better than any other donut. I work 25 miles from the bakery and it's a big deal when somebody shows up to a work function with their donuts. I've been at a construction meeting with people from all over the state. A guy there had driven 50 miles to pick up donuts for our meeting. I stopped there this morning to pick up a couple dozen for our church breakfast. Sign on the door said mask required. I was sad but bought my donuts down the street. They were not as good.

They all post the signs but very few enforce it. If I’m not mistaken here in Tex a business cannot enforce the mask or they will be subject to a fine.

A lot of places still have mask required signs but not many wear mask inside.

If they ask I will just leave.

Funny I have never been asked if I was vaccinated against polio, small pox, measles, diphtheria , or the regular flu ?

Signs I see around here all say "Help Wanted". It sure is hard to believe the amount of folks on unimplemented that can't find a job. SMH

Should have handed them a handful of acorns or hickory nuts

Re: Signs on Every Store - 06/05/21 11:53 PM

I don’t know what the big deal is about wearing a mask when asked to do so. If you come to my house you will be asked to remove your cap and to remove your shoes. If you want to come in my house you abide by my rules.

I guess you really weren’t hungry for the good tasting donuts or you would have put your mask on for a minute and then enjoyed the donuts for 10 minutes. Will you go back to your favorite donut shop when they don’t require a mask/

I'm sure if you had just walked in and bought your donuts there would have been no problem, and no questions asked. You do realize that these businesses are just doing what they need to do to stay afloat, they are not the ones making all of these nonsense rules.

I'm willing to bet that a year from now, and beyond, there will be people and places that will still be wearing masks.

Re: Signs on Every Store - 06/06/21 12:49 PM

I don’t wear a mask if the sign says you must have a mask I’m fine with that but if I go back to my truck to get one the find out it’s not really the rule I’m not happy they wasted my time then.

Re: Signs on Every Store - 06/06/21 01:43 PM

I can't really think of anyplace that requires them anymore. I'm not sure if there is even a mask in my truck anymore.

Re: Signs on Every Store - 06/06/21 02:20 PM

The deal with the masks has to be viewed from a backwards looking perspective.....along a timeline from beginning to current time.

When this thing first hit, the topic of masks came up and non other than Dr. Falsy himself said it would do you no good. You don't need a mask for this. The thinking then was to avoid a panic and a run on masks, which were in short supply. All the commercial made masks we had were needed as PPE for medical staff doing the treating. But as for effectiveness, we were told not needed. Then the story evolved.......which in and of itself cuts the gonads off anything that was to follow. For something like this, the science is known. The science does not change. A true scientist could have told you with 100% certainty what was needed as far as a mask was concerned. If it was needed now, it was needed then........and if homemade masks were good, they should have come up with a pattern and told folks to get sewing. They didn't do that. Quite the opposite.....Falsy himself said that homemade masks were useless. Yet how many of us got by the whole time on a homemade mask? I never had anything other than the mask I made for myself out of flannel fabric leftover from a domestic pillow project. Totally useless, but it made me street legal. Nothing more than an empty symbolic gesture.....yet I was allowed to go anywhere if I was wearing it.

But as for that timeline, what happened next was the story evolved.......and politics got cross threaded onto the science. Trump was not wearing a mask. That is about all you need to know about masks. So now all of a sudden, masks are needed. Falsy now said so. And looking back, I can't think of a single time when Falsy agreed with Trump on anything. He generally went out of his way to contradict him......Falsy being the renowed expert and Trump the buffoon. That is the actions of a politician.....not a renowned expert. And since he was contradicting Trump, media made him an overnight sensation and quickly achieved rock star status. But he was still wrong.

Initially, the CDC guidelines said purpose of mask was ONLY to prevent an infected person from spreading virus. Would limit the spew zone of a cough of sneeze. But CDC guidelines said it would not protect the user from getting it. That was the story as recent as last Aug and Sep. Then the story evolved again......now it would protect you from getting it. Then it became two masks. At no time was a standard....like an N95....ever applied. Any piece of fabric would do. So bottom line, a political statement, but no actual science ever applied. We know that also as some states have dropped it, while others have not. Look who has not and you can bet that whoever is in charge and making the call is not a fan of Trump.

That is about all one needs to know about masks.

BTW, I am of the opinion that if a business insists that you wear one, you wear one. Their house, their rules. My choice is to not go in and I probably would not. Anybody who still pushing masks probably has different views on politics than I do, so they can keep their stuff. I'll find something else.

Someone needs to let the Navaho Nation off the hook, as far as the masks are concerned. I think they are still being required to wear one.

Just seen on the local news the other day a guy saying he still wants to wear his mask and is in no hurry to stop wearing one.

Re: Signs on Every Store - 06/06/21 03:23 PM

I see a lot of signs that say mask required, but I’ve only been asked once about not wearing one. I told her what I was getting and if they didn’t want my money I’d go next door. She decided green was better than a mask and let me proceed with my shopping.
I look at the mask signs like I do the no firearms or weapons allowed. They are more a suggestion than a mandate, unless they actually mandate.

Re: Signs on Every Store - 06/07/21 01:54 AM

If you notice it's mostly businesses that deal with food or alcohol that have the signage up. They're just trying to appease the big wigs in gooberment because they are the ones who control the licensure of those businesses. I've never been asked to produce my card when any of them. It's just a CYA on their part having the signs up.

Re: Signs on Every Store - 06/07/21 02:57 AM

I walked out of a store where the the guy at the counter literally yelled at me to use hand sanitizer and haven't been back. That was last summer.

They got lots of business from me in 30 years.

This is what’s wrong with people , compliance
There is absolutely no reason to wear a mask, none.

Re: Signs on Every Store - 06/07/21 07:17 AM

I'm not a big mask wearer so a sign on the door helps me recognize which place I want to trade with.

Re: Signs on Every Store - 06/07/21 11:06 AM

it was pretty apparent over a year ago that mask wearing is a fool's errand.

I'm disappointed in my fellow Americans that so many did what they were told no matter how dumb it was.

Too many complied. Its easier to follow the herd than think for yourself.

Of course there are those that are still wearing a mask and will for a long time yet, and those for the most part have all been vaccinated too.

How easily scared some people are that actually believe our Gov't officals and the fake news media, clowns like Fauci.

Then there are those traveling in their vehicle masked and staying that way 100% of the time! crazy
