Trap tampering last fall

Trap tampering last fall - 06/09/21 10:59 PM

I reported a guy I witnessed tampering with my snares.
All this time I heard nothing, then today a county official calls me and said the guy will receive a citation for the tampering.
She wanted to arrange a meeting with the offender and me tomorrow.
I'm scheduled to work, not enough notice for me.
And she informed me I was in violation for no tags on my snares!
I told her everything I have has a name tag on it, I don't think she believed me.
I'm pretty sure it would not be a good idea to turn in game violations, speeders or drunk drivers, here from now on, don't want to deal with someone like that.

All I can say is kill her with KINDNESS and hope for the best.

Turn em in. At least they gave him a fine that seems pretty rare.

Make em prove you didn't have your equipment tagged in court. Without a warden or pictures they will fold.

FCOL, where is the common sense? Why would you call if you were in violation yourself?
But that's the problem the general public is just a cash cow always in violation of something to most of these bureaucratic ticket quota types.

A friend of mine is a supervisor here at a local Border Patrol sector. One of his agents stole a trap and didn't realize the trapper had a scouting camera on it. I don't know if the guy has gone to court yet but he could lose a $100,000.00 a year job over it. Pretty stiff penalty.

Law enforcement that are thieves/lawbreakers should be held to a higher standard and be given stiffer penalties as well as lose their jobs.

I am sorry you have received this kind of treatment. It is not fair or right, which reminds me of real life.
It is incredibly hard to find justice anymore.

I texted the county officer, he said it was a legal set, this lady talked like a power hungry liberal, she was going by what I think the tamperer said

A friend of the family lost a $150,000/yr utility job stealing a wheelbarrow from a back yard where they were repairing a transformer. He did not think anyone was home and put it in the truck. Lady was watching the whole time. Dumb!

Bad mistake for sure, I understand people screw up, I just figured since I watched the guy do it and it's against the law I should report him

Re: Trap tampering last fall - 06/10/21 02:38 AM

Ya I put up with that bs when I talked about it last fall.
How do I know the two men were not armed?
The main guy is atleast double my size, what would you expect an older man to do, shoot him and go to prison?
Now that I know what that liberal county attorney is like, I for sure would loose my conceal carry permit over any confrontation

The only way you go to prison or even get talked to is if a body is found. Otherwise it’s just a missing person.

... y’all yanks are missing some important chromosomes... why steal a wheelbarrow when you make that much money ... not only because stealing is as trash as it gets... but ... never mind I give up lol

Re: Trap tampering last fall - 06/10/21 03:06 AM

Of course the tags were missing
He didn’t want to get caught with snares with your tags on them, just tell the libtard that the thief took the tags off.
Makes sense to me.

Re: Trap tampering last fall - 06/10/21 03:17 AM

Once I observed a poacher on my leased property. He walked over a hill and saw two deer. Made a great offhand shot on a young doe. That night I called his dad and asked that his son come to my house to discus what occurred on my lease. The dad, our bank city executive, came instead. I told him his son shot a fawn deer that moments before had been nursing from its mom. The dad said his son’s friend shot the deer and it was a spike. Humm..... The dad had a prior wildlife conviction. I let it go, but the dad and son each knew the truth.

Poachers come in all forms and walks of life. A year later II lost my lease to him. The landowner would not explain why.

They just found a guys bones near here in the bush the other day.
Some guy was riding his 4 wheeler thru the bush and came upon a 4 wheeler stuck up against a log.
He looked around, and didnt see anything,so he took down the plate numbers and reported it.
It came back registerd to a guy that went missing in 2017 I believe.
The investigators turned up some of the guys bones scattered around by wildlife, they dont yet know what happened to him.

Makes sense to me.

He didn't take the snares, he set one off and stuck a skinned carcass in one
Attorney said he had to cut a friend's dog loose too, none of my snares there were ever cut

That was the idiots excuse for messing with your stuff he’s lying to the lady to look better and get less of a fine. I’d ask the officer to call her and get that straightened out,

County officer said he would have to explain to her again those were legal sets.
The tamperer also said he had to cut a snare to release a hunting dog, I had no snares damaged there, she lectured me on talking over her when she repeated his lies.
She's a liberal for sure, she bragged about her 5 generation farm family, her dad didn't allow hunting or guns on farm

Down here we have a process of law and order. Tuning them up can lead to charges on you even if your right.

We can also carry handguns legally. I always have one at hand. That fact I can handle any situation permanently and thing escalate keeps me humble soft spoken and avoid conflict at all cost unless its life or death and I can't get away.

You see its something you can't seem to grasp. Carrying a gun has nothing to do with being afraid of anything, a tough guy, or any other bs thing you want to dream up and it dose not created more violence.

It reduces violence ( keep me from preforming tune ups several times) and when anyone could be armed it gives people pause before they attack someone else.

Re: Trap tampering last fall - 06/10/21 06:53 PM

Yes, let the law handle it, then when they get ticked off from paying a fine they’ll destroy your entire line. I prefer my way and avoid the law. Most learn their lesson and pass it on. Only takes one good story and no one will set foot around your stuff or on your property again.

So who is this county official? Can they enforce state fish and wildlife laws saying your going to get issued a ticket for not having tags on your snares? Doesn’t this fall under Iowa DNR?

County deputy attorney with thirty years of experience she said lol
Game Warden said he would have to explain to her my sets were legal
Tampering and theft fall under sheriff's dept in iowa

DNR charges go through the Clerk of Courts office like any other charges, Some of them can be real jerks to the public and LEOs but kiss the judges butts to keep their jobs.

Interesting point. I had a fella steal a narrow, nice curved trenching shovel that was leaning up against a tree in my yard, and that fella isnt known for doiing any work. Shovels are work...my favorite shovel too, lol.

"favorite shovel, seems oxymoronic.

Even if a snare or trap didnt have a tag on it, I would challenge a private person's right to walk up on it, and scrutinize it so closely that the existence of a tag could be verified. I dont allow anyone that type of freedom on my trapline. That's snooping around, and isnt allowed.

As we speak, I have two different fellows, from 2 different scenarios, avoiding that time in history where they will have to meet with me at a point in time where no witnesses will be present. It will come, and I had a vision from God that says I can do as I please regarding that when the time comes. It's important I dont go to prison over it, but things need to be squared up, so that I remain dominant and victorious in the end. These guys cant even look me in the eye in public. What a way to live.

Re: Trap tampering last fall - 06/12/21 10:44 PM

I was trapping on my land he crossed the fence to bother my stuff, what else is there?
I put carcasses out where I trap to attract coyotes, this was one sided, I minded my own business
The guy doesn't trap, runs a contractor business, he just a bullie
It's been more than five years since I even talked to him, he tried to tell me he had permission to trap where I was.
My landlord got mad when I told him what trespasser said
The bullie has been driving on my guys land, the farmer was mad he hadn't caught him yet, that's about all I know about it

Re: Trap tampering last fall - 06/12/21 11:32 PM

Man I hope this gets straightened out, I’ve gone to calling the law like you did just for the fact you don’t know if they’re carrying, and or on some drugs.
Posted By: Tactical.20

Re: Trap tampering last fall - 06/13/21 12:08 AM

As long as he doesn't bother me I'm positive this is the end of it, hard telling about other people.
I have a carry permit now.
I'm more upset with the deputy county attorney, she repeated two lies the other guy told her, I tried to tell her those two things didn't happen, she lectured me on talking out of turn
I doubt I will report anyone else after dealing with that liberal attorney
