Return or refund? There is a difference. If you waited 2.5 months you must have filed in late March. We filed in April and received our refund electronically in about 12 days.
My CPA filed an extension because an LLC filed one. First time for me. Sort of in the dark but the LLC in question did not make a distribution. Suppose I am waiting for passive losses. I don’t like waiting and the uncertainty, especially when anticipating a refund.
Refund. I filed in March probably around mid. Not sure the day. That's incredible. No clue what the gold up was. Don't know how the ink shortage impacted me
My tax lady warned me that there were people that filed in Jan that still hadn’t received their return in April. Everything was backed up for whatever reason. Ours came within a few weeks so apparently they got caught up.
Just talked with my tax person, filed early April, said not to expect before July 1. IRS recalculating all the tax returns with unemployment compensation due to the late changes of the last government give-a-way..
I have paid in for 15 years. This year I got a refund due some strategies I had made assumptions on changed. We pay in quarterly and do not want to under pay and get a penalty. We have been re-characterizing a percentage of our deferred accounts each year with the lower rates likely to go away in 2026. Also our capital gain distribution income was not as high as I anticipated as many fund managers were not trading stocks or investment items when the market was doing so well. We also took the opportunity to harvest some losses and thus lowered investment income even more. The refund was sent right back to pay into our quarterly payments.
