Family Dr knew I had not taken the shot ?

Was at my family DR today for my 6 month check up that was great. Even with both knees replaced and on pain pills for along time ago. I Lost 25 pounds since Dec 23 and my sugar numbers way down and still don’t have to take medication , cholesterol numbers way down , no medication needed. So instead of giving me a big that boy she spends 80% of time belittling me for not having the COVID shot ! One how does your Dr know you have not taken the shot ? Must be a master list going already at least in Iowa ? I was hot. When I told her my 2 cousins had bad reactions to shot she then got mad again and spent 5 minutes hand writing me a list were I could get a free shot starting with Walmart. I took her hand written paper list and said I know we’re I can a shot at. I wanted to say so you think I have been living on the moon the last 6 months. Then when that did not work she tried to scare me into getting the shot by saying government is going to vaccinate 1 billion plus people soon and you might not get a shot if you want one. I said I think I will be able to get a shot if I want one. I would have like to have told her off but it’s getting to the point there is no Dr taking new patients here in Iowa . None. If I would have just hinted that I did not want to hear it From her I bet she would have sent me a letter 1 minute after I left her office. Would not have had the guts to tell me in person I am firing you for not taking the shot. I am sure liberal DR from Des Moines or Iowa city or quad cities. After doing a great job on my diet I got to listen to that crap and had the privilege to pay for it too. I will bet by Jan 1 government will force everyone to take the shot. No exceptions you watch. It sounds like you have some precursors for a nasty case should you get one. Doctors are there to inform you that your decisions in life may harm you. Your doctor may have gotten the word from the Iowa Medical Association or the Iowa Dept of Health to push Covid vaccinations. You may not like hearing it, but the doc did the job.

I learned a long time ago that you’re darned if you do and darned if you don’t. If your doctor doesn’t push getting the vaccine you won’t have confidence in any medical advise in the future. But if the doctor does recommend vaccine, you’ll complain the doctor over stepped their bounds.

Go get your vaccine and this will protect the people around you should you get exposed before they get vaccinated.

Doctors help and save many, many, many times more people then they accidentally kill. I am amazed how many people on Trapperman think doctors and other medical personnel are out to get them.

I thought I might have a little patch of psoriasis so I made an appointment with a dermatologist recently. He begins to grill me about how I should get the shot. I told him I had covid last September and I tested positive for antibodies. He tells me the antibodies are only good for 90 days. I pointed out to him that the "90 day" ideas was way out of date and that the most recent research indicates good antibodies for at least 5-8 months, and possibly much longer. He was not at all happy with me.

So the question is: Was the doctor just ignorant of the latest research? Or was he aware of the latest data, but just lying to me to get me to take the shot?
I don't like either scenario.

BTW, I tested just recently and still have antibodies; eight months now.

Pretty much this right here. States have lists of those that received the vaccination. Their health departments then cross reference this with various providers to see if that provider's clients have a lower rate of vaccination. Providers either through memos or meetings receive "pressure" to improve the vaccination rates of those that they serve.

I was not implying doctors are out to get you , just making a mistake. Just normal human error. I used to live across the street from an OB/GYN. As medical malpractice insurance has gone through the roof for that speciality costing over $1million a year , later in his career he switched over to being a general practioner. I heard that trend is happening more and more.
If a mechanic screws up your car and the engine blows up , he is obligated to repair it on his dime. But no one hopefully gets hurt or dies.
Yes , I agree doctors save many , many lives. But they may not get a second chance to make things right like a mechanic.

As we often see here on Tman, the opinions are well entrenched, and it's no different with many physicians.
It's always helpful to remind our docs that the patient-physician relationship is built on collaboration, not mandate.
Some docs, like some TMan'ers prefer mandate. Take a wild guess whose opinion a mandater prefers?

IN Feb at my semi-annual checkup I asked my DR if I needed this fake vaccine shot and he said "your not in bad enough shape!"

I think everyone that wanted it got it by now. The rest they will have to force.

It is interesting that the Food and Drug Administration hasn't given full clearance for these vaccines as there has to be intense political pressure to do so.

I told a V.A. Dr. once we were talking about my body and not hers. She got a little upset .

Maybe just maybe there are to many people having reactions and dying from them!
Usually it takes 5-10yrs testing to get approval for a real vaccine.
But lets not muddy the water with facts!!!

I would be appreciative of a doctor that spent that kind of time with you. Whether you agree with her opinion or not, at least she is willing to spend time with her patients.

As for whether she is right or not on the Covid vaccine, who knows? She is however a doctor and not posting on a trapping website so her opinion does deserve consideration, at a minimum.

This doesn't make sense. I hear them saying even though you have the vaccine you still have to wear a mask since you can still acquire covid while vaccinated and you can transmit it even though you don't have symptoms of covid.

So apparently, I would gather from that, the vaccination only protects you, and it is not to protect others.

I've been kicked out of 2 since my motorcycle wreck in 2017. One was a plastic surgeon that I told off just before he opened me up to do some major muscle surgery. The other was an infectious disease doctor that I told her she should go back to school to work at McDonalds, because she was useless as a doctor.

My wife's a nurse and she cringes when a doctor starts to go off on a tangent about something, or in the case of my kidney doctor who is consistently 30 to 45 minutes late for appts, and I get a little bug and tell them off.

Maybe you should go look at what the CDC is now finally posting about all the Deaths that WERE Covid.
You may need to change the channel on your TV, or just keep repeating what you hear/see on the fake news.

Mine asked if I had gotten the Frankenstein shot and if not if I was planning on getting it, my answer was no & no.... that was the end of the conversation, he knows who he is dealing with.

Same thing my trapping partner said. He called them all quacks, wouldn't go too one for anything. He died when he was 58 from complications of diabetes and colon cancer. Then his family said see the doctors didn't do anything for him, go figure.

Remember how frustrated some are on here when Coonman doesn't follow their advice to the exact detail ? Now you know how a Doctor must feel at times.

I couldn’t care less if conman was paying for the advice.

So why would there be more emotion with free advice than advice paid for? Which leads to the question, why pay for advice and not follow it. I think its a feel good thing.

I had a vet tell me that people have to spend money on their pet in order to feel they are good pet parents. He told me one woman brought her poodle in for him to check out and he said there was nothing wrong with it. She said the dog needed a penicillin shot and if he wouldn't give it she would go to another vet and get it. He gave the dog the shot and it died in the womans arms 3 minutes later. I guess so much for feel good medicine, lol.

So you made a choice and the Dr. did not respect that choice and got all judgemental about it and your upset about it that sounds terrible.

I guess I have a good dr. Conversation went something like this.

Dr- Have you been vaxed?

Me- No

Dr- Do you want it?

Me- No

Dr- Okay

I get funny looks when I go to a doctor and they ask..." Who's your family doctor?"?

The funny looks come when I answer..."you, if your still going to be here the next time I need one in 10 years or so"..

I like my Doc she’s a warrior she says what she thinks but still listens to a person, she knows not to offer me meds that I won’t take for every little thing but if she said I really needed it I believe her because I trust her opinion. Know your Doc is a big advantage going to person you don’t know is a disadvantage if you don’t click right away.

I visit my PCP once a year because that's what the health system requires to get my med refilled. She would do it over the phone, but everybody gots their hands in the cookie jar.

I work for myself. Catching coyotes. The people i work for DO NOT care if i am vaccinated. The coyotes dont care if i am vaccinated. So HOW is the government going to make me take this shot by Jan 1 ??? Also how many people will they be bringing to give me this shot???

I would have given any Dr. my educated answer for not getting the vaccine. No shot here and there wont be either.
