Re: Used pickup market - 06/21/21 08:57 PM

sorry , it is bad , some of the used car lots here only have 2-4 cars when they had 20 all the time in the past

the new car lots have 12 when they would have had 60+ in the past

any truck that will drive down the road and not need major repairs to get you safely through and oil change of driving is worth 4K or more

private party , you might find someone who is still thinking in 2019 pricing but you better have a fist full of cash and be ready to go the instant the add is posted.

Unfortunately You're not going to get much of a truck for $2000 Dave.

If you're going to buy a moneypit vehicle make sure you get one that has parts readily available at the junkyards-like an old ford ranger or such.

I wouldn't buy a truck for less than $10k unless I knew the person. The vast majority of cheap trucks will cost you plenty in repairs

Drive the tires of the Colorado and save your money to replace it.

Unless a miracle happens in the coon market this winter you are going backwards before you start with 3 dollar gas. Why add another vehicle and more insurance and licenseing to the equation.

With this market, honestly staying home might be the money saver if you aren't already equipped.

Instead of buying a $2000 truck to drive around and keep your "good" one nice just put some $ into the one you have. U will have 2 trucks to keep running, 2 insurance bills. Dont know if they do state inspections out there but maybe that too.

You can get by with a car......I long lined rats mink and coon out of an old vw jetta back in the nineties. Granted I wasnt getting 20 coon a day which the weight would have killed it but it did OK. A wagon is better but you have smells to contend with then. Cars are a bit cheaper than trucks- I think so anyhow.....

No state inspection. You could drive around with broken frame, don't matter here. Just pay tags and tax on what you bought it for, good to go.

Dave, you should just keep your current truck, but save up enough money that you can buy another truck if you need to, or take care of any other emergencies.

GMC Canyon, any of you guys driving this, and what do you think? Would you recommend it?

I will need a new vehicle, looking at full size but I am also considering smaller pick up truck with 3.6L V6 ...looking at buying brand new. Just looked at one this afternoon listed as $39,360.00 CAD ($32,007.55 USD) . I can get this truck for much less.
