To BWCA then ... - 06/22/21 11:39 AM

Back to more than real life.

I went to the BWCA for 8 days ...it was Rough. Pictures show the good times but we had Wind, Waves and rain.
The May fly hatch ruined our fishing , we caught 5 northern all snakes.

My Daughter and her Husband brought mt 7 year old Grandson , he was a Great joy, and trooper!!!.

I brought mt 67 year old Uncle, he and I were beat to a pulp afterwards. But had fun. [Linked Image]

We got home Thursday evening. But my Wife and I had to watch Grandkids for 4 days after that. I Got a Sore throat and at 3am Monday started throwing up. My Wife took me in to Dr.s office at 4pm because I couldn't quit. I was happy to get there and get some Zophran and Torodol for my headache. I hot home at 9pm and slept half way.

It was a Hard 2 weeks.

Sounds like tough conditions but the time spent with family is rewarding. Hope you are on the mend too.

Nice to spend time in the bush.
Looks like you had a nice trip with your loved ones.

Great pictures and beautiful scenery up there. How were the black flies? They were nasty when I was up there years ago.

Sounds like you did it exactly right. I've been three time and have been beat up each time, but we tend to to large loops (75-80 miles). Seems like when we're about halfway in the portages got to all heck, and its gets to be quite a slog. Nonetheless, I love it and its always memorable.

It is a shame the fishing stunk. I wonder why. Did you fish much?

MJM, I'm 98% sure it was the May fly hatch the first day we were there.

We fished quite a bit.

I will.
It's all Sinus related, sore throat led to swallowing phlegm and nausea then dehydration and headache from not being able to drink Coffee that next day.

I got zophran for nausea and fluids, Torodol for headache didn't touch it.

2 days later I'm doing much better, still seems like a bad head cold.
