"240,000 miles...uses 2.5 to 3 qts of oil between oil changes." You answered your own question. Sounds like to me if it's still going then a little "seepage" is nothing to worry about.

I'm guessing with that many miles and that much oil use you have blow by around the rings. Which would cause a little oil on the engine around the PVC valve

Might need new PCV. Start here. This would be easiest and cheapest fix. Couple bucks.

Colorado engines use oil. Just keep enough oil on your dipstick. Don't do too much drag racing.

Because I drive my Dad's 2008 Chevy Colorado and it uses a lot more oil than yours does.

I had a Chevy S-10 years ago and it was a trouble-free little truck. I liked my Silverado. I've got a fifteen year old beater Colorado parked here in my yard that has been nothing but trouble. Burns oil just as you mentioned. Been a crappy truck right along.

Not usually true.

I have a 2004 Canyon w/3.5 5 cylinder. 238,660 miles and a 5 speed transmission. It doesn't use any oil until there's 5-6 thousand miles on it and then its changed. With filter.

I purchased it new, Jan. 2004. Best little truck. Normal parts wear out. Brakes, exhaust etc. Its a little rusted out on the rockers.

I wouldn't take $2000 for it right now. Its my trapping ride.

I do have a 2000 chevy 1/2 ton that needs to go. Frame broke above each rear wheel well, but will still run. Has 240000 miles on it and never changed oil filter in 70000 miles. Just dumped oil in it as it had a leak in rear main seal. Was seeing how far it could go, welded frame once but re- broke.
Unlike yourself, I owe nothing on the 4 vehicles, side x side and 4 wheeler I have.
