Question for reloaders

I was recently gifted a 6.5 Creedmore with one box of rounds. As we all know its impossible to find ammo, so I am considering reloading, as I am set up to reload. My reloading manual doesn't address the 6.5, so I searched the net for info. I found that H4350 is one of the powders that can be used. I do not have H4350, but I have IMR4350, and have read on multiple forums that they are very close to the same. I would like to hear the opinions of the experienced reloaders on here as to using IMR 4350 in place of H4350.

I dont think there is 10 cents difference in the two performance wise. They dont burn exactly the same. Your maximum charge will be a little different.

It should do well with it. like danny said, it will have a different burn rate. I have used imr 3031 and imr 4064 for my 6.5. They all shot tight groups.

Just go to the Hodgden powders web site. If they don't have the info you need try the Nosler site. They both have a lot of SAFE information for reloaders to use.

IMR 4350 is slightly faster than H4350, my creed loads are loaded with IMR 4831, but I load heavier bullets (140's)

If you're gonna mix data, make sure to back WAAAAY off the upper end loads and sneek up to where you want to be so you can keep an eye on high pressure markers.

Another pertinent question? Have you ever done any fire forming? Cartridge case substitution.
Pay close attention to trim to length as the 243 is longer by a little over a 1/10 of an inch

If you are shooting 140 grain bullets, Hodgon lists IMR 4350 with a compressed charge of 41 grains as the max load and 37 as starting load.

Danny in the original post the OP stated that he had plenty of .243 brass to make cases for the 6.5cm.
That is mixing data.

I just stopped in a gun shop in kearney ne last week.

They had a pallet of 6.5 cm , and another of 7mm rem mag.



Give them a call and see if they will ship you some.

I use both in my CM's and there is very little difference in accuracy-but there is a little.Those are the only two powders (4350) that have given me the accuracy I am looking for with both of my CM's.I have also used AA 4350 and that was not as good as the other two. Best bullets have been 140's.
