Muskrat and mink books

What books would y'all recommend for general muskrat and mink trapping?

Dobbins mink book has some great sets.

Ken Smythe's Bottom Edge book

Mink Trapping by Don Powell is an excellent book.

Oscar cronks muskrat book is a good one

The muskrat ,the trappers meal ticket by Nick Wyshinski was my trappers bible as a school boy trapper.Very,very good book.

With all the info here and on youtube, will the books make much a difference? Honest question.

Mink Mania by Phil Presjack influenced me a lot about 50 years ago. Not sure if it is still available. Geez has it really been that long????

Anything from Jim Spencer…would be good for mink

Those already mentioned are good. Rich Faler’s mink book is very complete and good.

I like reading books far better than reading a computer. I do keep notes from this site. My internet at home sucks, so youtube is pretty much a no go.

Call me old fashioned.

Gerald Schmidt has the best book and video out there and the numbers to back it up. There is way more to trapping numbers than setting a trap.

Austin Passamonte has a combined mink/rat book that is good. So is one by Clyde Pidcock(sp?)
Faler, Powell, Dobbins are real good. If i had a choice of one book it would be Falers

I have read some ones mention, does Gerald Schmitt have 2 mink books or 1? I have read 1, no bs lures has a book or was this something someone say about mayrsada? I's red o hearn a good mink book ?

Schmitt has 2 mink books, Red's book is an excellent book.

I have the first one an read others mention, not all, both Schmitt an Steve grukleys mink book have lots photos an excellent books, I like Steve's book as also from Iowa , lots photos in both of sets an trap placement on blind an pockets, mostly footholds , I believe Schmitt maybe all footholds , bottom edge trapping Is something else I into, set in channels an culverts an bridge pillars make bottom edge trapping easier as find other edge sets is something else I do but lot harder to find then easier culvert or pillar sets but some locations found, edge trapping not always but lot times is low percentage catch rate with lot connibears suerged an often times alot clog up connibear jaws with grass an leaves float downstream

Study what the guys who are consistently piling up the numbers are doing.

Schmitt, Fossil, and Blakely put me on the track to better numbers.

I third the vote for "Muskrat and Mink Trapping" by Austin Passamonte. You start at one end for rats and turn it around for mink form the other end. He breaks down the muskrat into four section depending o the environment you are in, good book......jk

What good is a good muskrat book if you don't have muskrats to trap?
