Do you pay attention to the labels on the products you buy? (Where it's made)

Yup and most is in Asian countries. Sad but true. Less and less made here. Our elected officials make it cheaper to move to foreign production and harder to stay in the US with more red tape and hoops to jump through it only makes business sense to move.

Global market. I get it. China goes back on the shelf. Anywhere else is acceptable if I can't find USA.

Heck ya. I look constantly.

Funny thing , with the current plastic shopping bag ban ( 10 cent tax ) here I am glad that stores have changed over to paper bags ( still a 10 cent tax ) but almost all paper bags I have seen are made in the USA unlike the banned plastic bags.

I try to avoid China-made stuff, but will buy from other countries if the quality and price are better.

X2

Even the Chinese don't want to buy made in China. They know it is junk. They buy imported if they can afford it.

I try to avoid buying things made in China. Very hard to do these days. Heck the device I am writing this response on alone probably has 50% Chinese made parts in it.

Re: Your purchases - 07/09/21 12:49 PM

I go out of my way to buy stuff made here. Its not easy. When I can't I buy from here, I buy from the little mom & pop stores that need the business.

For our business, we tried to find a supplier for items from the USA. When that didn't happen, we tried to locate a distributor for some items from here. Again it isn't easy, and we pay a little bit more. But buying from USA means Americans are still working. We seek out sales, and buy in bulk to save cost.

Most of what we buy is American made or grown. Most of our food is local.
