Neoprene wader repair

Neoprene wader repair - 07/12/21 04:56 PM

Was wondering if anyone knows of a place that replaces the boots on neoprene chest waders?

When I went frog gigging a few weeks back, tore a good size rip between the sole and the top of the boot, definitely unrepairable. I'd like to have just the boots replaced. Hate to throw them away over that.
Thanks

A local dive shop might be able to help ya or give a referral. It's common to replace seals and/or boots on drusuits.

Unless the original manufacturer did it, I think it would be a headache and probably leak down the road. US companies like Simms can do it, but the boot top diameter and the leg diameter have to match perfectly.

A really well done patch with another piece of rubber might be your best bet. I've seen truck inner tube patches, properly done, that worked well.

Good luck,

Pete

Probably won’t help you in this instance, but I’ve sewed big rips with dental floss. I then use Shoe Goo on the inside and outside of the tear.

Probably cost just as much to replace them.

I find neoprene hard to patch.
