85000- 100,000 people quit their jobs !!

According to NBC new report between 85,000 and 100,000 people walked off the job last Friday. They spun it as they were protesting their jobs. BUT the first baby makier checks hit their accounts On Thursday the 15th . HMMM

I've been working for the same place for almost 15 years , I figured 6 more years and I will quit

They keep this up and I'll walk off mine...Not going to keep working to pay for their life of leisure.

I'm investing every penny the government gives me, and working overtime on top of that.. I hope it's all there and plus some when I retire.

I’ve been on a long vacation, but for different reasons. My dad is recovering from heard surgery in Cleveland right now, and mom is our daycare. So either my wife has to stay home with our 2 year old, I stay home, or she goes to daycare. She works dispatch for the county, I work for a farmer. She makes more than I do per hour and has incredible benefits, I have no benefits. So we decided that since daycare would cost almost 3/4 of my take home pay, I’ll stay home with her till dad gets better.

I guess they could include me in that number, but I still have my job when it’s time to go back.

Too many lazy people sitting at home doing nothing because, thanks to the government, they can receive more income from doing nothing than they can working.
Almost every business in my neck of the woods has "Help Wanted" signs in their windows.

I am one of the lazy people, but will not take gubbermint handouts. But I won't give then anything they can hand out either, not on income tax anyways. The other ones are not as easy to get around. As a farm we are tax exempt in some purchases but thats as far as I can wangle it.

Work don’t work. If you are satisfied to live on beans and rice from the government go for it. But don’t talk to me 20 yrs down the road about wealth gap. I said it before. I will say it again. If you work hard. Go above and beyond each and everyday. It is your right and your responsibility to tax shelter your hard earned money. 401k. Roth IRA. HSA. College Savings account. Maybe they're doing it right and I'm doing it wrong. In a few years I'll be beat to heck from working long hard physical hours and they'll be healthy and living good.

What others do has never made my choices for me and it never will. I do what benefits me and mine.

When the inflation & tax increases that hit because and from others actions it will most certainly have an effect on your future choices.

Of course curtent and future events affects our choices but it doesn't make them. There are always options and there has never been guarantees that the plan you had yesterday will be the same plan you will have tomorrow.

especially when .gov decides it's not "fair" that you have a big nest egg, while others do not.

there's already a movement afoot in some circles (it's been openly discussed) to annex private retirement savings accounts and to redistribute them "fairly". don't worry, you'll get a "fair" distribution, too; so it's all good.

They are hoping to scare people into taking that money early so they can get tax AND penalty revenue.

Actual confiscation of retirement funds would be a death sentence for politicians, even if they manage to eliminate the 2A.

I would not bet the farm on that. These politician's are not afraid of the us citizens they do what they want and mock the people.

It used to be a death sentence for politicians to take away the Alaska Permanent Fund earnings. It still is for Republicans when they do it. New ones run on restoring it, and then vote to spend it on the ruling class( government employees and retirees) and government programs. Luckily the Federal government can print all the money t hey want, so they really do not need tax revenue anymore. A lot of that printed money ends up in retirement accounts or helps make them grow in value. Maybe not real value , but the number goes up.

If only I had 10 kids under 17 WOW. Dang amish will be millionaires !!! 5 under 7 1500+ 5 over but not 18 1250 = 2750 . With all the hand outs you get from having that many kids Dang I be rich !! When the central banks are no longer able to print money propping up governments and markets, the government will go after retirement accounts and that won't be all. They will institute bail-ins. What will happen during a bail in i they will close all banks and any money over x amount will be confiscated for the common good. Most likely it will be brokerage and all retirement accounts as well.

So it was just on news a few min ago, can't find workers an pay $13 at McDonald's locally, geez, I work forever for $13 hr an few weeks ago went $15 after complain , I used get $17 hr back 6 years ago, this hard machine shop setting type work, not work McDonald's , an they want more work for $15 in this hot weather, a year ago I only make $12.40 hr, that stuff low, $15 hr is nothing nowadays after hear this

Most of these people walked off their jobs to get new better paying jobs. Most places aren't giving raises to meet the demand for workers so workers arr switching employers. Its how capitalism is supposed to work. We've had a number of people here do that and more power to them if we dont give them a raise.
