Great man,coach and religious person. My favorite coach of all time. When the time comes. He will be with the greats of Joe Pa, Bear Bryant, Vince Dooley.

Shoot........last year the Huskers had to suit up a football player to put a basketball team on the floor. Yes, really.

And the Huskers got beat by the Nebraska Girls School For the Blind. They did play hard for 4 quarters and never gave up though.

Gary, I tried not to hate on your Huskers back in the day but I had a couple tipping points. The year Phillip's couldn't quit whippen his GF and finally got put in a cage I figured well, maybe this is the year K-state can finally best them.


Nope, Amond Green had a stiff arm like a shod mules kick. Wow, most impressive performance from the bench I can ever remember. The guy was like trying to stop a cannon ball in mid flight!

Fast forward 10 years, finally my Wildcats had the great Husker team on the ropes and what did the Nebraska fans do? They walked out on their team in the 3rd quarter and I decided if their fans didn't even love them it was ok for us Kansas kids to hate em LOL.

Fair enough. Nebraska has always had tension in the locker room that was never talked about outside. It's hard to put a team together even with good athletes unless they can play together.

After his coaching career...........Tom Osborne ran for State Senator and got the job. He went to Washington and found out what politics was all about. He served his term quietly and came back home with no more interest in making changes. He knew rats when he smelled them.

He was / is a class act. I didn't know that about him but it doesnt surprise me
