My son’s fur display - 07/24/21 02:12 AM
My 13 year old boy built a simplistic fur display and we picked them up today at the NTA convention. He caught every critter on here. I always hear trappers talk about low fur prices and it isn’t worth laying out much steel. If the value of your fur is predicated on the dollar, don’t blame the market. Blame yourself. The value he and I have realized doing this project will last much longer than the fur check he could have received for it. He still has plenty more that we picked up today from the tannery. Instead of doing another one for himself, he is trying to decide who he should build another one for as a surprise gift. He is leaning towards a guy that allows us to trap his farm grounds. I think that is a great idea. Being in farm country, the landowners utilize their land to produce for their family and others. It was an easy concept and practice to instill in him that it is a good idea to also share with the landowners what their land produces for us. Mushrooms, fish, critters we hunt and critters we trap. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that this will be a practice that future generations will continue.
