Thank you ITA and NTA - 07/25/21 10:29 PM

Just wanted to say a big thank you to National Trappers Association and Iowa Trappers Association for putting on a great event. I don’t know who’s idea the kids cave was but my hat is off to you. Thank you to everyone who worked in the kids cave as well. I haven’t seen that many kids excited about trapping in awhile, great to see. I was tailgating right outside the door Funke’s was in and you wouldn’t believe how happy those kids were about there new knowledge of coon trapping and the yellow bags full of traps and bait they now had to put what they had learned into action!!! Great job and wonderful idea for the kids. Keep up the great work everyone, we have to teach the young ones that are so very excited to learn.

Couldn’t agree more about the kids cave. Also nice to be able to meet someone from the forum.

It was a nice rondy all the way around....except the hot! But ya kinda expect that in July. I was camped right accross from the kids cave, and thought it was odd that no one knew what was going on in there in the middle of the night. I ask several peoplle that should have known, and they thought I was hallucinating! lol. It sounded like a bunch of people in there at two in the morning. I guess they were setting up for the next day. Great event, and a nice place to have it, thank you, especially the ITA members that made it happen!

Roy, I wish you had introduced yourself at my booth. I told Yooper what happened, but I'm sorry I didn't get you called back. Harold gave me your number on Wed evening, and I forgot and left it on my table, then they locked the building before I thought of it and could get back. You were my first customer Thursday morning, Harold said no need to call him, he has already been here! lol

As to the gate number, they said three thousand, but I think that was light. I've been to many conventions, and I think the crowd was prolly twice that or more!

Don't know the gate number. I talked to John on Saturday morning and he had no idea at that time. It was a great show and for sure many thanks to the NTA and the ITA for all the hard work. They should have a number in a few days. But it was a good crowd and they seemed to be spending a good deal of money.

2700 is what we were told Saturday night by a feller pretty high up in the ITA. That’s not counting tailgaters, dealers, volunteers.

Very good job , Iowa trapper's did good.
Fair grounds had security, for heads up on weather an what not.
(We did the Minnesota 2012 N.T.A. convention) wind did number on
Our camper and tail gating booth.

We all had fun, N.T.A. did awesome .
I'm sure I missed some things I was looking for
but trust me got plenty of walking in.

Our Michigan group was very impressed with the ITA. What a great group. Iowa Friendly, the people there were the friendliest ever, easy going, fun also. Beautiful country, crops looked great. 933 miles one-way for us, well worth it. It was a well run event. The kids cave was over the top. Yeah it got hot, its the Midwest in July. Old timer at at the restaurant said it makes the corn grow, and it was all corn & soy beans.

My daughter is only 1 so at first the kids cave didn't attract me much, but I stopped in just to check it out and was blown away! What a great thing for the kids, small projects, enough to keep their interest but not too long or complicated to bore them! I ended up spending probably an hour or more in there visiting with other people whether they had kids participating or not! Who ever dreamed that up deserves a very hardy pat on the back and handshake! Well done!
