That is not including the Sales tax , and the hourly charge goes up; if it takes longer that what they figure.

Welcome to Socialism and the new America. There are repercussions from allowing our country to be stolen.

The old joke about Soviet socialism rings true...

A man in Soviet Russia saves and saves and saves his rubles to buy a car. He finally has enough to buy one and goes down to purchase it. He fills out the paperwork and is informed he can return in exactly 10 years to the day to pick it up.

He asks, "Morning or afternoon?"

The man handling his paperwork asks, "Why would that matter?"

The man buying the car says, "The plumber is coming that morning."

Yep! I got three freezers here. Two in the kitchen. One of them ~ my main one ~ has a light. Other doesn't need one. I only keep a loaf of cheap bread in there, for bird bait.

Third one? I keep pet meat in. It's in a back room and has no internal light. I often enough have to go in there after sun down.

Guess what I do? I Flick The Ceiling Light On, For Two Minutes! laugh

Seriously, guys .....

Yea we got screwed but it wasn't by another country it was by corporate America that outsourced the chip production to save money. They are starting to realize it was a mistake.

Where can you get a fridge for 700 bucks, ours took a dump and needed to be replaced asap, I found out there are more fridges over 3000 than under.

You know what I don't understand? Why does everything have to have a computer, a circuit board or internet connection? We had lots of stuff that worked perfectly fine without them, and not all that long ago. Now a circuit board goes out and you have a 400 dollar motor to replace on your 3 year old washing machine because its all one component.

We need to bring back our manufacturing capabilities.

if you have a water/ice maker make sure your insurance company knows = 3000$ gems
most floods are caused by these and if not listed, there is no wiggle room if or when something goes wrong if not listed

And that same country just bought the UK’s largest computer chip manufacturing company.

I like my fridge like my truck

minimal features

crank windows , rubber floors

a single bulb in my refrigerator only , the freezer is in the basement

my sone was just telling me that they "fixed" the tail lights on a bunch of cars the same way , with LED panels you can only get from the dealer and they are 1100 dollars with a 50 dollar core , way to fix that 1 dollar bulb that lasted 5 years

I like bare bones refrigerators too. As long as they don't use too much electricity.

Paid $75.00

I just went to Walmart and the shelves are still fairly empty of normal, everyday items. They didn't have the Gatorade powder, puppy food, shrimp and canning supplies I wanted and had huge gaps all over the store. I am very tired of hit and miss shopping. Screw socialism!

When I bought my house in '04 it had a Whirlpool dishwasher in the kitchen. The tag on it said it was made in '84. It worked up until 2012 or so... The little mechanical timer in it got so sloppy it wouldn't cycle properly. I can't remember if the timer was no longer made or just too expensive to replace. But until then it worked like a dream.

I bought a Jenn Air from a buddy who had just bought a new house. Brand new, but his wife didn't like the color so I got it for $50. Supposed to be top of the line... Total piece of crap.

Just last week the floor manager at Home Depot told us that there are shiploads of refrigerators and other stuff sitting off the coast of California but the Longshoreman's Union has control over the unloading and they're still milking the covid thing to the max and won't allow temporary workers to unload the ships. Take that for what it's worth.

If you have a problem balancing the fridge temp and freezer temp, your inside light may not be going off when the door is closed. Put your cell phone on record, put it inside and close the doors a few minutes.

Re: Shortage on Refrigerators??????????? - 07/28/21 07:39 PM

Good advise Charles...saves a service call.

Another one
vacuum under the fridge in the evaporator pan, dust builds up and stops the drain when the frost free kicks in and the cycle is broken and the fridge no worky-turkey when it cant drain down to there cry eek
But the repair man is not going to tell you that, more money is selling new and re-selling your used to apartment rentals re-furbished after they remove it from you.

and you thought only used car salemen were dis-honest, go figure

Friends of mine had to wait about a month for a freezer. That was a few months back though

Wouldn't it be easier to just push the button the door hits in and see if it goes off?

It seems like it to me. But I don't own a cell phone, so I don't have to try to justify what one costs a month.

Remember that that light switch has a silver contact when you do scrap it.

one thing is the temp dial after so many years can not be moved as there is corrosion around the different sensors and poof,,
