It’s easier to roll the big stuff on it with it low. lol
the older I get the more likely I am to noodle the big ones with the chain saw than wrestle with them at any height
I used to wrestle them into my splitter that flips vertical.
now I get them to the size I can lift them with the tongs onto the splitter
I like to work from trailer or tailgate
in my old truck I would take the saws and truck cut a round and set it as a step to step up on the tailgate . I had side boards and would noodle the pieces so that I could pick them up then wal 2 at a time up and into the truck
then at home I could park next to the wood shed and put the splitter up to the tailgate , pull a tailgats worth of wood down , split and toss the splits into the wheel barrows and when they were full stack
I need to bend over once to pick up the log and get it in the truck everything else was standing
now I have a topper again and am back to the trailer I used when I had my van
I load the trailer with rounds and 1/4s that I noodle much like I did the truck , but only a single or double lair the traioer is a little lower than the splitter but not by alot I split from the trailer into the wheel barrows then stack
