That norlund unused, original tag with leather mask is a total package safe queen. I would list it opening bid 500 and would not be surprised if it broke four figures.

Mines cuter. Got this Saturday at an auction and I would guess I paid more for mine and its worth less.

Not sure on the original cost of a norland hatchet, but it couldn't have been much. My parents bought me one when I was around 10years old (for trapping) and they didn't have much spare cash (poor) back then. You couldn't have knocked the smile off my face when I received that gift!

I have that hatchet. I think it was $12.

I know nothing about this, but that sure is a huge range of opinions on value!

You have found a great treasure there and it would be on my wall if I had found it. Somewhat related to garage sale Norlund finds is a double bitted Norlund Hatchet and a Schrade Uncle Henry knife that I got for the grand total of ten bucks for the pair. Once in a great while treasures will pop up if you go to enough sales. Congratulations on a great find.
