He was looking down and writing in his black book when he left. He introduced himself as my state rep. I said, "well, that's unfortunate". He said, "why?". I said "Because you went along with everything our communist governor has done for the past year, and I will do everything in my power to make sure you are not reelected!". I guess, he got the hint.

In restrospect, I should have answered the door with my 9 pointed at him, like I do with everyone but the FedEx and UPS people. That's, pretty much, the kind of neighborhood I live in.

I have been all over this state and met some great folks, but the fact remains, it is governed by communists. I refuse to give up 5%+ of my retirement income for the scenery and oppression.

State income tax rate is 5%+. The lady of the house pays the mortgage and taxes. I get to pay everything else. With inflation as it is, I'm getting hosed and she's on vacation in Rhode Island... Something ain't right here!

Upon further inspection, my state income tax rate is more like 6.8% and it's indexed with inflation. So, next year it should be well over 7%. I gotta get out of here!

Last year my rate was closer to seven on adjusted income and not much for write-offs.
