Researching A Pharmaceutical ?

A particular drug used in a study for combating the Ebola virus was removed from this study due to mortality rate. How would one find the physical effects ( effects on organs, etc.) caused in combination with said drug used in this trial?
My brother who passed about a month ago was given this drug and I'm trying to compare what happened to him with what happened to those in the Ebola study.

Google the drug name, or if you can get ahold of a PDR (physicans desk reference), it will tell you every thing you didn't want to know.

Thanks for the response. I didn't see the drug mentioned in the study you posted but it has been used recently in treating a viral infection. I'll keep looking for why it was pulled from that study.

Not wanting to break Paul's rules, but it's a antiviral drug used to treat covid patients in the hospital. The drug is remdisevier (sp). I know this drug was pulled from the ebola study. I'm just trying to figure out the reason why. Not anti vax, I just want to be an advocate for proper treatment.

Remdesivir was rapidly pushed through clinical trials due to the West African Ebola virus epidemic of 2013–2016, eventually being used in people with the disease. Preliminary results were promising; it was used in the emergency setting during the Kivu Ebola epidemic that started in 2018, along with further clinical trials, until August 2019, when Congolese health officials announced that it was significantly less effective than monoclonal antibody treatments such as ansuvimab and atoltivimab/maftivimab/odesivimab. The trials, however, established its safety profile.
Nothing there or anywhere else did I see it mentioned that it was pulled due to mortality. Actually it says that the ebola study determined its safety and its still widely used for other things. It just wasn’t as effective as other ebola treatments.

I read the same about it not being as effective. I think my brother may have had an allergic reaction to it and was wondering what percentage of people given it have allergic reactions.

It’s shows up on mine. The short version is In the Ebola it was pulled because it killed 54% of treated with it. The second study was done by the company that makes the drug. It shut down kidneys and killed 30% of people treated with it. Again very sorry for your loss

I'll look again. Kidney failure is one of the things my brother experienced.

I listened to it and what the doctor mentioned were symptoms my brother experienced. He was a day from being removed from the vent when he presented as septic that was later determined not to be sepsis, fluid retention that the hospital discovered late, and kidney failure.
