I wish they had that when I was in school

My son called me tonight , dad I joined the College 3 Gun Team I am going to my first match in October

well the next hurdle is gun storage the campus police only let you store 2 guns in the Armory and um it's 3 gun which sort of needs 3 guns to play.

he will figure out more details at practice.

My Nephew is a freshman at Paul Smiths in New York . I knew the school was great..when my nephew said “I have to bring hip waders “ They also have a skeet and trap team he’s looking into…Bass team too…taking Wildlife / Fisheries courses. They ice fish too….I told him..I should enroll with you….lol

My son was on the UW Osh Kosh shooting team. 3 times national champions while he was a member.

That's awesome. We didn't have a shooting team when I was in college but we had a bass fishing team. It allowed me to fish tournaments all over the country and compete in several national championship events. Met a lot of great people I wouldn't have met otherwise and went a lot of cool places

They also have trap , Skeet and a bass fishing team

all the shooting takes place in the same range about 20 minutes off campus

he has his truck at school now but it is not a secure place to keep anything

the max ammo the armory will store is 250 rounds , which sounds like a lot to many people till you realize that won't even get you through a match

He is in the Mechanical engineering program and wants to work in the firearms industry , so there is probably no better place for him to be than 3gun it is the fastest growing shooting sport and has brought about more innovation in guns and accessories in the last decade.

he has been in our Rifle and Pistol club action pistol since he turned 12 and the club would let him shoot , he turned some heads his first run at 12 , he has been getting harder and harder to keep ahead of , if I take a mike or a Delta or fumble a reload , he has me.

I wish they had teachers that look like they do now when I was in school !!!

kind of funny they did in some cases we just couldn't tell at the time we were looking at them with our kid glasses on. 30 seems old when your 12 and it seems very young when your 50

my grandpa says to me you know I was out of school a while and I saw my old teacher , it was the 60s by this point and they took their habits off , I would have never thought it when I was in school but she was a looker then she must have really been something 20 years earlier.

that said I had most of the same teachers my parents had so they were old by then,

I had some hot teachers in high school 1970-74....Jbyrd63 didn’t know what to look for in High School....lol

They didn't have time to teach that stuff, they were too busy wasting time teaching cursive and long division.

I am a member of Paul Smiths College Alumni class of 73, and when I was there we could still keep our firearms in our dorm rooms. I think it was the last college in the USA that allowed that ? Now I think if you want to have firearms on campus for hunting purposes, you have to keep them under lock and key at the Administration building ?

Our sportsman's club financially supports 4 local schools and their trap shooting programs.
We didn't have any more sports than football, basketball, and baseball. No girl's sports at all.
