What in the......

What in the...... - 09/16/21 01:22 AM

So I got me a real good bat job for my local city. It's going to take a lot of caulk so I trot down to my local big box where I buy my caulk by the case as I usually do and the shelves are wiped the heck out. Alternative brands, nope gone as well. All that's left is low end interior paint putty grade and some high end stuff and not much of that. Check nearby stores, bare shelves as well.

Someone figure out a drastic fix for the covid runs that required all the toilet paper?

Welcome to the new reality, where random stuff goes missing for no apparent reason.

I bet the next time there is caulk the price will be a lot more. One easy way to get you to pay more. JMO

just take a close look at any item that comes in by slow boat (container) and is not produced in the us (nothing of consequence is) and figure on shortages ---=--- this is the new normal they are talking about.

Square D 3 pole breakers, nail-on boxes for residential, channel strut, 3/4" EMT (for a while), 15kV loadbreak termination kits...

Guess whose job is currently a $h!+ show right now because of material shortages.

Oh, and I went to Braum's (burger joint) this evening to grab a quick dinner for my apprentice and myself... They're out of styrofoam cups. I got some generic white paper cup in medium size... No large or small cups.

Somebody needs to tell Dipstick Joe it's tough to "build back better" when you can't get anything to build with.

Oh just wait until the food supplies start showing up.
I went to the Food Lion the other day and they had not one box of Drumstick Ice cream. I was ready to start an insurrection worse than January 6.
(I was going to be packing some fingernail clippers, open carry.)

I've heard the same thing Vinke talked about; ships backed up waiting to be unloaded. Don't know why but I'm guessing it's a shortage of people to do the work. Got to stop paying people to sit at home.

Products containing latex are in short supply. Your foam might contain latex.

A dearth of truck drivers are causing shortages all over.

Those cargo ships sitting in the bay "waiting to unload" may be loaded down with chicom combatants and ordinance. But yes there has also been a trucker revolt recently.

EDp--I don't think they are paying people to stay home any longer--I think all that ended earlier this month.
