The brilliant economist AOC - 10/01/21 07:12 PM

She said that 3.5 trillion dollars is only 350 billion dollars every year for the next 10 years so we should look at it on that standpoint. A brilliant, educated mind at work.

It's the same mindset as the man who makes 50k a year and buys a new 60k truck because he thinks he might be able to make the $400/month payment stretched out over about 10 years.

She's such a genius!

The real problem lies in the fact it is not a one time or ten time expense, it is an every year forever expense.

Re: The brilliant economist AOC - 10/02/21 05:04 PM

The government destroys everything it touches. It is not efficient. It wastes money that it steals from individuals. It grows like a cancer always taking the life out of its people.

Sorry to bust the democrat’s bubble but nothing is free, it always costs the people.

Our government is so corrupt not sure it can ever be corrected without a giant reset.

Sad but this is what apathy on the part of the people gets you.

Early America went to war with the most efficient army in the world at that time, for freedom, you can’t even get most Americans off the couch to do anything freedom related now.

I think we are experiencing the giant reset at the moment...

He plans to get it from the big corporations who will pass the increased taxes onto the consumer.

Re: The brilliant economist AOC - 10/04/21 03:34 PM

"It's free because it's paid for," the Dems say. So that's a new definition of "free" from the party that is always creating new definitions. Remember when "having access to birth control" was redefined to mean it had to be free? Using that new logic everything I have was free because I paid for it and carry zero debt. The really sad part is how many idiots will believe that lie and those idiots vote.

"$2 Trillion Federal Stimulus Package passed on March 27, 2020"
"Dec 21, 2020READ: Text of the new $900 billion stimulus bill"
Memories are short around here.

"This is where the money is coming from to rescue the US economy

In its frantic scramble to save the American economy, the central bank of the United States seems to have the ultimate superpower.

It works like magic. With a few strokes on a computer, the Federal Reserve can create dollars out of nothing, virtually "printing" money and injecting it into the commercial banking system, much like an electronic deposit. By the end of the year, the Fed is projected to have purchased $3.5 trillion in government securities with these newly created dollars, one of many tools it is using to help prop up the ailing economy during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Oxford Economics."

Re: The brilliant economist AOC - 10/04/21 04:16 PM

The economy is ailing because the federal government is forcing private sector employers to match their goverment largesse.

Re: The brilliant economist AOC - 10/04/21 04:58 PM

Her math is not wrong, what should be the issue is spending that much money through the government the best policy for the nation, society and the economy?
I sure don't agree with many of the more progressive spending amounts or even programs but at least they have made a decision on some type of revenue stream to pay for it, which may not be the best option but it is an option unlike the GOP that spends money and creates even more unfunded mandates and then won't even approve raising the debt ceiling for the increases they voted for. I am thankful I live in a country that can run as well as it does and can create opportunity even with our three branches of our federal government operating like the three blind mice.
