Might be a reason why you'venever seen it done... Why not just drill a hole in the bucket and run the stake through the bucket. Then it won't roll and your trap won't fall out. Are you targeting otter? Why are your buckets washing away?

If never had a bucket wash anywhere. Just stake through each spring. Square cat litter and ice melt buckets help with rolling and are free usually.

But I normally only use bucket sets high on the bank at bridges facing away. Just looks like a trash bucket that's washed down the creek and catch is out of sight.

I think he is using the RBG's not sure how they would work with kitty litter buckets as I've never used them.
