Fake coyote turds 2.0

Made another batch of coyote turds. The original recipe didn't stand up to rain as well as I hoped in testing. So I used unsanded fortified black grout mix from Lowes. I also took a suggestion from Bob Jameson and used coyote urine for the liquid. Mixed in a little elk and deer hair (from de-hairing hides for rawhide).

They’re probably worth more selling to a dollar store as a prank toy rather than being worth a hoot on the trap line.

But they look more like mud to me than anything.

Putting that pee in a squirt bottle and giving a grass clump a shot works pretty good. So does picking up droppings off the county road and giving them a squirt

The question on my mind is why don't you use real poop? Human poop at least stinks.

I like it. So you used the urine as the liquid to wet the mortar? And did you have to let it start to set up before you rolled them out?

I think turds and real urine are highly under rated by some trappers. I suppose it may happen but I seriously doubt too many coyotes walk past another's pee or droppings without checking them out. They may not get as strong of a reaction as some lures and baits but I feel confident they get a high percentage of reactions than any lure or bait.
