I guess one thing to remember when you are talking trash about them is you married and are their ex too.

My answer would be NO they never go away. There ae always constant reminders of the past and with kid even more so. The choice they made to marry when younger does not always turn out to be the person they thought they were or they were marrying, plus addiction, abuse, etc. There is always baggage to deal with that one may not have realized and some never gets healed. With that being said I am the luckiest man alive, and would not trade her for anyone else.

Knew a guy who got a devorce after 15 years of wedded bliss. Turned around and married the same woman again 4 years later. They stay together 13 more years and she divorced him again. If you do the math, she ended up with 3/4 of his pension and annuity and he had to live on a quarter of it. True story. Believe I would have found another way to handle it.

I have 4 more years of child support and 2 more for spouse support. My youngest will be 21 and I will never haft to talk to her again! And I will get a $3667 a month pay raise! Lol
