Meet little Gordon - 10/09/21 04:10 PM

Picked up a shi-Tsu pup for my daughter in Ottawa. She will come and get him in a couple weeks.
This little devilish guy was the biggest one in the litter and was bullying the other pups.
He is a ball of energy until he tires himself out.6 weeks old.

Cute pup. He looks like our Molly. They are full of personality. Not much use for anything, other than companionship and letting you know when someone is coming to the door.

Once I went to the zoo in James Bay, Ontario. It was empty, except for a single dog....

It was a Shih Tzu

He learns fast. A couple days ago he had a hard time coming up the cement stairs in the front of the house. He didnt know how to work his feet for that.
After a couple tries he runs up them now.
He also jumped from my lap and landed on his head on the floor, lol.
Now he only jumps off if his bed is near by to land in.
he is about half housetrained already.

We had one of those that same color for 17 years. Best dog ever, once you accept the fact that those are nothing like a dog.
They go apey over cheese and Vienna sausage. The one we had knew how to spell cheese.

My X got one years ago.
I hated that yapping thing soooo bad.
Too many useful breeds of dogs to pick.
Why pick a worthless one?

Re: Meet little Gordon - 10/10/21 03:21 PM

It is a pet not a working dog, lol.I had a husky for years, not a house pet strictly an outdoors dog,he got along well with the house dog.Had to put the husky down a few years ago,My little one just died late winter,I got this one for my daughter who lives in the city.I doubt she would appreciate a large working dog as a pet living there..
The ones I have had were not yappy at all.Like any dog they have to be trained. And those little shi-tsu's are very smart and easy to train.
Lots of people own dogs but are too lazy to train them.

I used to take my shi-tsu in the bush once in a while. He would flush partridge before I could pop them so I quit bringing him.
Probably could have taught him to retrieve partridge from the thick stuff.
I think they were originally some kind of bird dog.Duke would go crazy over a dead partridge

I don't know about that. We've got a miniature Shih-tzu that can't weigh more than 8 or 9 pounds chase two deer that were eating crab apples out of our yard the other morning. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if they had stood their ground.

Boco, that is a real cute puppy. You must like Shih-tzus are much as we do. They are smart and easy to house train.
