What is streaky bacon? I have never heard the term.

The tail of the rasher when the back(loin) part has been removed.
A rasher is the streaky side piece attached to the loin(back) piece.
The back piece alone is called canadian bacon,or back bacon.

It doesn't look bad. Canadian bacon should be cooked like a ham to me. I make buck board bacon or cottage bacon, it is made from pork butts (shoulders) I had some this morning, and yesterday.

That looks like a ham loin, not back bacon. We can also get pickled pork loin-it is sold as pea meal bacon and is sometimes called canadian bacon or backbacon. But it is not like backbacon taken from a rasher.

I love ham chops, had some great ones in Ireland from a medieval recipe. Can get some half decent ones here from Quebec on occasion.

This is what is waiting for us all at the pearly gates. A big bucket of bacon, floating in a big tub of gravy. No statins needed on the other side.

Broil is our preferred way also unless a cast pan needs more seasoning. Looks good.
