Old Snowmobile Ad

I saw this on FB site that I belong to. Thought some of you guys might like to check it out.

That brings back some memories. A buddy's dad had a Mercury snowmobile he let us ride all over town when we were kids.

Those old ads are pretty neat.

A couple years ago my co-worker found an old newspaper stuffed in the wall of our sewer plant. It is from 1978 and has a skidoo ad on the back. Prices are pretty close to yours. I'll have to take a picture and add it to your thread next week.

Yep Dozen Red Fox could of bought one of them in those days.

I (my Dad) had a Sno-prince and Northway when i was a youngin.


I was too young to play with the prince, but i rode on the back
plenty. I drove the northway, it wasnt too bad back then.

Bought a new elan in 1974 for $525.
That was a lot of money in those days.Fur was good,wages were about $3.10/hr.

We had a skiroule back in the early 70's. You work on it for an hour, then you ride it for an hour, then you work on it for an hour, then you ride it for an hour, then...

I remember burying a 1973 Evinrude Trailblazer that had reverse off the trail... my backs still sore

I bartered 3 red fox pelts for a used Ski doo snowmobile from my uncle around 1974. He sold the furs for $125 as I recall.
I couldn't buy a head beam on my Ford Dually for 600 Texas coyotes.

My dad bought us the Mercury at that time. Heavy worthless beast. It did have reverse as if that made it better.
