My youngest son gave us some venison from one of the deer he got. So, I figured I'd make stew. Same recipe as the beavah stew.

Or chilli Colorado depends on how far west you are. Might also be the fact there's no tomato in the sauce but not sure of the true difference.

Made another large pan of shepherds pie and spiced it up more with some of the hotter salsa. Also cooked up 10 lbs. of Russet taters to make several dozen sheets of Norwegian Lefse tomorrow.

Egg gravy - Cook a few diced onions in some butter, add flour to make a roux, add milk and a couple slices of cheese and stir until its thick, add 6-8 diced boiled eggs and stir until its hot. Easy and very good. Don't forget the salt and pepper!

Same cure I have been using for many years. Was called Prague Powder #1 when I started using it.I use it for my smoked hams and bacons also,,,but I inject some right into the meat to cut down on the brining time.

My favorite thing about a moose roast is cold moose meat sandwiches the rest of the week! Don’t know why but I’m crazy for em.
