Just see it on news that hobby lobby pay that Jan 1, so I don't make squat an work 50 times as hard then that, 2 new guys since thurs, both quit, the one this morning work with since yesterday was get into it on phone with some girl had on FB chat yesterday that was take off cloths I couldn't help but notice as ph lay work bench an he yell her today instead work an got me help him punch out an left, actually almost made me show how do it , that many jobs around ? You know you're not going to leave that job. You've posted how many times about what other places pay, and you're going to get something else and you've been told of dozens of jobs and what they pay and you stay at the temp place anyway.

Saw on the news Hobby Lobby is raising their minimum wage to $18.50, so I don't make squat. I work 50 times harder than that! We've hired two new guys since Thursday, and both have already quit. The one that quit this morning I've worked with since yesterday. Yesterday he was talking to a girl on facebook messenger and she was stripping for him. I couldn't help but notice because his phone was laying on the work bench where I could see it. Today he was talking to her again, but they were fighting and he was yelling at her instead of working. Then he got me to help him punch out (presumably before his shift was over) and I practically had to show him how to do it. Are there THAT many jobs around that you can work one day and quit, get hired somewhere making $18.50, and quit that one the next day too?

Our local casino is starting new employees at $20/ hour and up and can’t fill all positions. Local school is paying $25/hour for bus drivers, they still have openings. A not for profit group just bought up a couple of old Victorian house in our area and is paying $24/ for house keepers. Plenty decent paying jobs out there for those willing to work and improve their skills.

a week ago my son took a job making 35 an hour moving a couple into their house , it was only for 2 days but yeah people realize you have to pay more to get help

last week he started his job as a mechanic in training at a local shop 12 an hour 35 a week unless they get busy , it can go up soon and fast but he is 18 and wants to learn more than he wants 20 an hour , he was making 16 an hour over the summer at a cheese plant , they are paying 20 to full time people.

there isn't much skill in moving 16 ton a cheese a day even if the pay is good it goes away when your body is worn and your mind weak

I went thru a McD drive thru last week to grab a sammich and the gal in front of me dropped $70 on meals. McD can raise their prices just a little and cover that $15/hr rather easily it seems. I prefer the $3 bundle myself.

Dave can get a woman to decorate his house with little dolls that stare at you and she can cook your meals , and use your hobby lobby discount.

Working at hobby lobby you'll always have cheap trap wax. Women around you all the time(probably won't be stripping though) and a lot higher pay with Sundays off to put up fur.

they are only open 9am to 8 pm if you work 11:30 to 8 you have lots of time to trap in the morning

The place I work is paying $23.30 to start with full benefits including a pension and we can't get close to enough people. There are plenty of jobs around paying over $20 here.

$20 bucks doesnt buy much today.Wont be long we'll need a wheelbarrow of 20's to buy a loaf of bread.

Coonman you ought to stand down and be thankful for what you have. I operate a big fencepost mill. Starting pay is $11.00 an hour to stack and band 8 foot fence posts. 30 days I give .50 cent raise 90 days in I give another .50 cents. That gets you to $12.00 hour@ 50 to 60 hours a week, I pay time and a half after 40 hours, Paid holiday if it falls on a work day. Thats it...My 4 Foreman are at $17.00. 4 men stack and band, the mill produces a post every 6 1/2 seconds. Right now I am running 4 inch. posts next week we go back to 6 inch. You say you work hard, come see me I will show you hard work. Oh 30 minute paid break at 10am 1/2 hour lunch and 30 minute break at 3pm. My oldest stacker is 60 and the youngest is 21 I buy pizza on Friday. I haven't hired or fired in 3 months, but would make a spot for you. PS I bet our coons are worth at least as much as yours maybe more. I don't drug test....

My understanding about Hobby Lobby (and no there's none near me) is that 80-90% of it's workforce is part time. I'm thinking only their managers will be the ones making $18.50 since it only applies to F/T workers.

Dave, I know you are frustrated working where you do, but only you can make the changes that need to be made in your life. If you aren't willing to make a change, then stop complaining about it all the time.

Where I used to work, before retirement, if our new hires weren't doing what they were supposed to be doing while they were working with a trainer, the trainer could also be reprimanded. Some companies don't allow cell phone usage on the shop floor during working times of the day.

Did you ever think that maybe all those people quit because they have to work with you? Are you the only one training new hires?

I haven’t worked a day in the last 15 years.
I absolutely love what I do and money has followed from success to help me but that’s not what got me to where I am. Finding something I love, having a passion for it and always be willing to learn.
Stay Humble and live by the nobody cares work harder mentality

These places are desperate for bodies to stay open. They have to offer 18.50 to try and get anyone to work. They will get some. They will (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) of the people that have been working there for years only making 14$ and they will quit and the business will have to recruit even more new inexperienced people. All up until people (customers) stop blowing extra money and the stores slow down and then all of a sudden they have to trim the fat and layoffs, part time, and crap excuses to fire them will all hit the fan. People are the most expensive and hardest part of near every business that exists.
Do what you enjoy.. if you enjoy it don’t worry about what other people are trying to do yto keep their business above water
