Who drinks their eggnog straight?

Lots of recipes. I've had some that I liked. Most is too thick and rich for me too - almost like drinking overly sweet pudding. Never tried cutting it with milk. I can see how that would improve it - at least for my taste.

Straight up. Sometimes I even pour it in a glass first.

It is pretty rich though. A swig or two a day is about all my stomach will handle.

I hold the egg nogg and drink the whiskey, the wife loves it got her first bottle just before Thanksgiving and she's been through a couple 4 or 5 so far.

The wife brings home a quart it would be gone in a day or day and a half at the longest but not this year.

I like it straight . Big ol' glass on the back porch on a hot muggy mid August day after mowing the grass. The thicker the better.

Last time I had egg nog I had 5 days of wishing I was dead lol. That was 20 years ago and still haunted by it lol

Ii get a few half gallons every year around Thanksgiving and Christmas. I drink it straight. I know it's not good for me but I like it. I haven't had the alcohol kind so I don't know if that's any good. I think it should be made year round.

Straight for me or with a shot of rum added. Best way is with a nice thick slice of the often hated Fruitcake! Fruitcake, that's a whole thread of its own! I love the fruit cake and mincemeat pie! That combo of deserts are all mine, nobody else touch them....

It's pretty good substituted in buttermilk pie recipes.

My buddy the butcher and I drink a half gallon once a year and "fortify" it with bourbon

Not a big drinker but I add a shot of Southern Comfort to my eggnog go through a couple of containers every Holiday season I am the only one in the house that drinks it.

If you want to hide them fruit cakes where no one will even think of touching them,,,put them on my kitchen table. Even the raccoons here know better than eat that stuff.

I wish I hadn't pondered the raw eggs...in the age of artificial colors and flavors. Aargh.

1/3 water 2/3 eggnog and a shot of Crown Royal or dark rum and warmed.

I had to stop drinking it a few years ago. I started drinking Egg Nog about Dec 15 when it started coming into the store very year and go to Jan 30. Gained to much weight in 45 days. MD

When you guys talk about cutting it with milk I'm not sure what you mean. Are you talking about mixing milk with that commercial stuff in a carton that they call Eggnog?
If so, that is why many people don't like eggnog. If it comes premixed from the grocery store it is NOT eggnog.

This recipe is delicious. I like it with about medium thickness and without whiskey.

Is there another way ???
