Houghton/Hancock for the Holidays - 12/23/21 01:48 PM

Friend and I are going to the Houghton, MI for the holidays. Plan on doing some hiking, eat some Finnish food, checkout the dance hall memorial in Calumet and Dee's stadium (birth place of pro hockey).

Anyone have any other suggestions of what to do or see?

brockway mtn. drive is a seasonal road, you wont get up there now unless your on tracks, ski's or snowshoes. Dee stadium is cool, the birthplace of professional hockey. vollwerth's in Hancock makes some really good sausages, many different varieties. you can rent snowmobiles at some of the dealerships good riding up there. not crowded.

Everyone should read the history behind the Dance Hall Memorial, sad part of history of mining in the U.P.
